No list should have Curry ranked higher than LeBron. Only reason I have Curry ranked higher than Harden is based off the media circle jerk we witnessed last year for Curry and i expect that to continue.
Is this a all time rank or 2015 rank? Because if its a 2015 rank, well Curry just beat LeBron a few months ago and won the championship. Durant barely played last year so as of now, i dont see why he shouldnt be ranked higher than Lebron or Durant
Can't help but think AD will be at #1, maybe #2. Anthony Davis seems like he's always on the internal memo: hype this kid, hype his team. I think he's a phenomenal talent, but the media is really, really, reeeeeeeaaaally hoping the Pelicans finally break out a little so that AD's star will rise. Stars sell the game. You could almost shuffle the top 5: LeBron really carried Cleveland in the Finals (albeit after slacking off / reserving his energy in the season's first half). AD has an unbelievable mix of talent, a guard who grew to 7'0". Curry is a lights-out shooter with a cute daughter who helps him get MVP votes. KD was in the mix for Best Player on the Planet until his foot problems. Harden needs no hyping from us---WE know what he brings. Given that it's ESPN? Tough to think they'll give our boy his respect. They love, love, LOVE the other four guys.
Should be LeBron/KD/Davis/Harden/Curry but I wouldn't be surprised by any order, though I expect nothing other than Harden at #5. Curry will probably get overrated. He should be #5, or #4 at highest. LeBron should and probably will get #1. Davis could very well become the best this year, but I doubt he ends up at #1 on this list. KD might get disrespected, because he was nipping at Bron's heels in '13-'14, and Bron has taken a slight step back since (and KD is out for blood, apparently). He would have to stay healthy though.
Who I think it should be: 5) Davis 4) Curry 3) Harden 2) Durant 1) LeBron What it probably will be: 5) Harden 4) Curry 3) Davis 2) Durant 1) LeBron
Couldn't agree more. I've been harping on this point for the past year. I nearly spit my drink when Lowe and JVG agreed that Davis could be deserving of the MVP even if his team finishes 7th. Goodness gracious
If you think this is bad you should see 538's top franchise players. AWFUL. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-53-best-franchise-players-in-the-nba/ I think ESPN has completely lost it. Probably can get better basketball takes on twitter or forums.
Knew it, knew it, knew it, knew it, knew it. Kawhi Leonard #8 and Harden #5. ESPN has no guts. There's more than a little of a popularity contest going on here. I hope James shakes off his Kardass-ian doldrums and uses this as motivation to smoke the league.
With Harden believing he was the best player last year and now.... this will undoubtedly motivate him. He will notice. It all comes down to this team being healthy and if it happens we prob make it back to WCF at least.
