Friday, I got a letter from a law firm saying that I owed 417.00 for unpaid traffic tickets in Hearne Texas from back in 2010. I acknowledge getting the tickets but I paid the them shortly before I was to go to court. They are double charging me and there isn't anything I can do about it. They only take money orders and checks so that presumably nobody will keep track of such paperwork after a few years. What a scam. Beware.
If you paid with personal check you can no doubt go back and get those records. Possibly even with a money order if you got it at your bank. Also, you may want to check the legitimacy of that "law firm" contacting you. Often times they are nothing more then glorified debt collectors out looking for a quick buck. Check to see if you have any warrants, if you don't then that's a dead giveaway.
Sry, I meant money orders and cash. Yeah, the law firm is legit. I'm going to the DPS tomorrow. Thanks.
duly noted I had no idea where Hearne relative to me now that I know I'll stay away from that place altogether I have no idea why I would ever need to be out that way. I dont even want to go to College Station and thats the only reason why I would think I would be out there.
Hearne (and Calvert) are notorious speed traps. I used to drive through those little towns all the time when I was in college, circa 1995. I always drove a few miles under the speed limit through those towns.
Hearne is known for umm... stuff. The movie American Violet is about Hearne. If you haven't watched it, just read the description : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Violet
There's always the chicken fried bacon in Snook. BTW, be careful going out to East Texas as well. Hell, just be careful anywhere. I stopped off in Italy and will probably never exit my vehicle in that town again. Amazing the conversations people are willing to have out loud, and I do mean "loud" when they don't know you're there. At least I don't think they knew... if they did, then... damn.
A little further out from Herne you have Rosebud and Lott. Located on Hwy 77 between Cameron and Waco. Both are known for speed traps. Rosebud even has a sign up on each end of town warning speed trap ahead.
good lord thats freaking crazy I think the majority of my traveling and exploring I am going to make sure I have a white person with me if I am driving. Otherwise I am going to be using DFW and Love Field a lot to visit places
