there has been talk in here that ewing is going to the knicks as an assistant. if so, would ny be required to give us any cash or a second rounder as compensation. i don't know how assistant coaches' contracts work. just a thought.

I doubt there would be any compensation. Sometimes it's just common courtesy to let coaches/gm's to explore their options. I don't see CD/JVG asking for compensation.

i think it would be fair for us to give up some kind of compensation for anyone who takes on "im holding a clipboard" ewing.

that only applies to head coaches under contract who resign wihout being asked - then go coach somewhere else.
Rudy T - was asked to step down (possibly) so we get no pick
JVG - left his team, so we gave NY a pick to let him out from his contract
assistants are allowed to move at will pretty much

Yes, I think the Knicks might ask for compensation for taking Ewing off our hands.

A wad of singles to go with a free lapdance would probly do the trick. Assistant coaches make a lot of money, but they spend a lot of money too.

Right - I think the compensation for Ewing leaving would be that Ewing was leaving.

We might have to give them a second round pick maybe the rights to Serge Zwikker

Please, God, make it June 28th so that we have something worth talking about it again. Make this stop.
