I was down in DC yesterday and met with a friend who was backstage at the rock the vote event wednesday evening. Obama, McCain, Harry Reid, a lot of political firepower and "famous for dc" types were on hand, and the black eyed peas performed. my friend said the star of the night, by far, was obama- according to my friend, the man has incredible charisma, and fergie was not just hanging on every word he said, but was literally hanging all over the dude. he seems an interesting guy, and although i think 2008's a little early for him, he's definitely someone to watch. a primary battle between obama and hillary would be awesome!

He certainly was the star the the Democratic National Convention.
What would have been REALLY interesting would have been Obama vs Ditka. Talk about personalities.

I'd do Fergie, but I'd have to have a guarantee that she wouldn't try to sing!

It's amazing how people equate speaking/communication skills with intelligence.
Billy Blowjob/Slick Willie was a good example of this...

Billy Blowjob/Slick Willie was a good example of this...The man was a Rhodes Scholar. He had communication skill as well as intelligence. He most definitely did not have the best judgement in the world. But I don't think there is little doubt that his intelligence and communication skills both rank highly.

So I take it you are not impressed with Columbia University or magna cum laude at Harvard Law School or being president of the Harvard Law Review...

I agree. Smart people are the ones that can't communicate as well and have trouble finishing sentences.

As a native Chicagoan, I'd be willing to go all "Gavrilo Princip" to ensure a Obama/Ditka ticket.

Are there any current Houston or Texas Bush-"nonsupporters" who at one time voted for the guy in either of the two presidential elections?
Now is the time to confess. :) It's OK to flip flop. I recall I used to like GWB when he was first (1998?) alluded to by the national media.
