I say trade the #24 to the Jazz for the #27 and #34. That way we have more options. With the #27 we take the best PF left and with the 34 we try and get Maryland point guard John Gilchrist. This will also free up some options on moving mike james. We could package him and Juwan in a sign and trade for SAR

It's not realistic. Why would Utah give up two picks to move up only 3 spots? If we had a pick above 20, they might do it. Utah will not do this. Come up witha more feasible scenario.

I wouldn't trade Howard AND James for SAR.

No thanks.

Utah likely to be dealing picks, either for futures or to move up this year.

And you want to move James...WHY?

I think I would. I would do just about anything to get rid of Juwan's contract.

It's tradable, if he is deemed healthy.

I don't know. He's got a player option for the 2008-2009 season for 7.375 million. I'm all for keeping him if he can play like he did in the middle of last season but I doubt he can do it for 4 more years.

What makes you think that he wouldn't? It's not like he relies on athleticism. Juwan is a cerebral player who understands the game. Juwan has been consistently good for almost 10 years in the league.

Yah, I'd do that in a heartbeat as well. SAR > Howard, and younger.

James is more replaceable.

That's a good point. No one can play forever though. I guess he is only 32. For some reason I thought he was older.

This is from the "real" Slick Rick. Ha Ha! Just Kidding. I like our chances at 24. We can get Simien or Diogu at 24. Utah will not give us two picks to move up unless there is someone at 24 that they must have. We also have the MLE that can be used on a PG. Howard and James are a good role players. Nobody will want Howard's long contract. Why would Portland want to have another player for a long contract (Zach & Miles)?

Utah has enough picks. I don't think they would be interested in trading 2 of their picks just to move up 3 spots.

Let us see. Utah has 5 picks this year:

#6, #27, #34, #51 & #60.

I doubt they are going to use all of them.

Maybe #34 & #51 for our #24.

I can see Utah packaging their picks to move up to try to get Bogut. Bogut has let it be known he wants to play Utah (for whatever reason). Mil or Atl might get a plethora of picks.

Maybe you mean you wouldn't trade SAR for Howard and James....

I would, it's a no-brainer. Take a potential superstar over an aging guy who had a viral infection in his heart and a B version of Francis who doesn't even try to pass?

It's like saying "I wouldn't trade two pieces of bubble gum for a $20 bill"....because SAR would be money in the bank!

That's what I was thinking. Utah will try to use the picks to get the #1 or #2, moving up 3 spots to the #24 wouldn't help them at all.

Boozer/#6 & #27 pick for #1/Filler would be a good deal for both teams.

Utah gets Bogut and dumps Boozer.

Milwaukee gets a banger inside in Boozer, gets the #6 pick and could still get a guy like Green, Deron Williams, or Frye.

What potential superstar are you talking about???
SAR is not going to get better. He is at his peak or right past it. You've seen the best you have seen out of Rahim just as you have seen the best out of Howard. I wouldn't do that trade. SAR is a miniscule fraction better than Juwan. James is a solid guard, may I say our best guard?

24 for 27 and 34 doesn't sound too unreasonable to me. Depends on what Utah wants. And what we want -- will someone useful be there at 24 but be gone by 27?

Utah will move picks for futures and/or to move up this year.

I'd trade our 24 for their 27 and 34 in a heartbeat. This draft doesn't seem to have any impact players in it, but is very deep, without much difference from 14-35. We need more depth. But, for the same reasons, I doubt the Jazz would do it. I agree, moving higher with their lottery pick would be a higher priority to them, especially if they thought there was any chance to land Bogut.
