I see us winning all 3 games as well. Our bats are coming around. Having Taveras and Lamb in their current lineup spots is really helping our offense. Plus we're at home. Time for some payback.

WWW, which would put as at .500 when Lance gets back. About the spot I thought we'd be in when he returned to the lineup.

....Is it against the rules for a player to wear another player's jersey if they're not playing? Maybe Roger should wear Backe or Pettite's jersey during his next start...

Wow, I flip it over during half time of the game and Biggio hits a three run bomb and we're up 8-0!
Who is this team, and what have they done with my Astros?

I personlly, would like to thank the Cubbies for waking up the Astros bats.
We are hitting the ball like crazy since the Cubs came to town!
Just like last year! WHOOP! Thanks for turning around our season Cubs!

Remember.... the Reds are going to be a "contender" this year...
Anyways, I guess we get to look forward to Zeke's debut tommorow... it couldn't come against a better team.

Astros 10-3 at home (best in MLB) but 1-10 on road (worst in MLB)

Because our offense is 3rd in the NL at Home, 3rd from the bottom on the road. Pitching remains consistant.

That tells me its comfort level. Its not like they're all taking advantage of MMP's cozy dimensions, or that this park has a Coors Field-like effect on the offense.
Also, I do believe they've faced better pitching on the road rather than at home... that will even out.

Have you guys seen Astacio's face? It looks worse than Seal. Sorry if this has been talked about before, just go to astros.com.
Maybe it'll make him more intimidating on the mound.

I can definitively say that I'm scared....
He should wear his hat real low, and never smile.... hitters will tremble.

the pirates are awful...they make so many "errors" that don't show up on the scoresheet as "errors".

I am loving Willy at the top of the lineup ... Glad Garner finally saw the light on that issue.
I'll be amazed if we can get this back to .500 for Berkman's return. I still have some hope.
Zeke is certianly not fooling anybody this inning... these are all hard hit balls.... by the pirooots.

His shoulder is hurting too much to play today. He doesn't think he could help the team if he was out there.
He might be a pinch hitter tonight.

Man... I'm not watching the game, and I was just glancing at gamecast.... and that looked like one helluva AB by Lamb.
11 pitches... he fouled off like 9 of them, and laid off of the pitches out of the zone.... either Redman is pretty easy to pick up from his delivery, or Mike Lamb is seeing the ball so well that even lefties can't get him out.

I think Lamb is just seeing the ball that well right now.
Redmen doesn't look that bad out there. Lamb has 6 straight games with RBIs.

No telling what kind of hitter he could have been if he messed up his shoulder at the beginning of his career.

Did Bagwell sit out last year or the previous one before that on occasion due to the shoulder hurting too much?
It just seems like its gone from bad to worse from last year to this one.

I'm almost certain he's been missing games here and there due to his shoulder for at least the last two seasons.

Its always been bad... and its never going to get better (thus, common sense tells you that it can only get worse).
Its basically bone on bone. He's takes a cortizone shot every 3 months to reduce the inflammation (which is what causes the pain, swelling, and restricted motion)... but it never fixes the underlying problem.
I had a suspicion that this would be Bagwell's last year if he couldn't at least match last season's production.... but now I just wonder how much more he can play (productively)... period.
Its never been as bad to the point where he actually had to take himself out of the lineup... so that is definitely saying something.

He's been given days off.... but he's never come in on game-day, with his name already penciled in the lineup, and said, "I can't play."
That's what he did today.

Amazing Clemens has only allowed 1 run so far through 4.
His control just isn't around, and he isn't getting the corners called.

83 pitches through 4 innings isn't a very good number, hopefully he can make it through 6, and the bullpen can hold on.

Well, he was just in the hospital for his pnemonia less than one week ago... there's no way he can be fully back strength-wise.
Also, Lidge's "stuff" is just that much more intimidating in a save situation.... although he definitely proved me wrong in last year's game 6 of the playoffs, where he held the Cards at bay for 3 extra innings.

It has to be Lidge's loss.
It's a shame he crumbled tonight, but with his recent flu/hospital stay, it was almost a sure thing he wasn't full strength.
Also, before Lidge's illness... we hadn't given him a decent save opportunity in ages.
He's gotta be completely out of sync.... I don't think he's ever pitched this sporadically at any point in his big league career. Jimy always called on him big-time, and then Garner.

damn, his ERA just jumped up quite alot.
still got 3 K's tho :D
lidge for life.
lidge is a stud, he's the last person on this team that i'd ever worry about, even behind roger.
no question he still felt the effects of the week before as his fastball was like 3mph slower. i'll bet we don't see another outing like this from him for YEARS.
tough ass loss though.
