I still believe Timmy has great stuff - it is mostly in his head. The Kid can throw [sic] but he has not been able to put it together yet.

I was glad to see him gone so that both parties can move on especially with him running out of options. Next up should be our magnificent blondy, Ducky.

"I feel like I threw the ball better today than I did the first time out, but going five innings is embarrassing for me because I'm not a five-inning pitcher," Redding said.

This is almost joke of the year material. Yea...we know he's a one or two inning pitcher MAX. What an idiot!

Actually, I am in the column of folks who believe that if TR would accept a one (or two) inning role, the old Lidge bridge to Wags role, then he czn just throw, not think, and succeed.

Redding has an arm, just no brain.

I don't want a guy with as much control issues as Redding as a set-up guy. THAT would be a disaster.

He can't locate, he's afraid to challenge batters in the zone (because he gives up a gazillion HR's everytime he does), and his off-speed stuff is pretty overrated: A curveball that he can't throw for a strike ever, some junk he calls a changeup, and a sinker that he's never worked hard enough on to be reliable.

My (brilliant insight) thought is that in a one inning role he would just throw the blasted baseball and succeed, not get it blasted.

I could be wrong. With TR Moores' problem, he doesn't count for much anymore. (Anymore? :D )

Timmy is delusional. He is the definition of a 5 inning pitcher. By the time the fifth inning rolls around, he is either over a 100 pitches because his control sucks or getting yanked because he gave up his 2nd homer of the game and his team is losing 6-2. Redding throws relatively hard. That's it. I always bought in to the hype and believed it when an article would come out about how he was more highly touted than Oswalt and Miller. If you look back though, he's never shown that talent in the majors. He did well up until at least AA, but I don't know why.

Padres starter Tim Redding lasted only 3 1/3 innings on Wednesday, but still managed to give up five earned runs on six hits. He walked three batters and his ERA increased to 7.94 while his record fell to 0-4.

Well, looks like good ole Timmy is doing his job. He is very consistent.

I Love it ...

I live in San Diego now and immediately after Redding made his first start and gave up 0ER (4 unearned after the headcase couldn't pitch after a single error) everyone here was talking about how they finally have a legit 5th starter.

I just laughed and said they did not know what they are in for.

Now on the radio ... Everyone is calling for his head and they are extremely pissed that they traded Q for him. I don't know what the fascination with Humberto is here, but he has been a very popular player for the last year or two.

Whats next Timmah?

come on don't forget Timmy's a starter.

I love it!

*I just hope he is still with the Padres when we play them and we get to face him. (That is if our offense is any better than it is now.)

He must be messing up the rotator cuffs of the outfielders' long throws back to the infield.

Are you not able to drop him? An empty spot would be better. :)

Wow he is truly horrible. The stats don't lie. I am only glad that the Astro's released him when they did. That was probably one of the tru brightspots of this season sofar

They were actually able to get a pretty decent catching prospect in return. Q has put up decent numbers at RR so far, showing that he has some pop, and good defensive skills.

Even though the Padres are set at catcher... I'm pretty sure that if they had the chance again, they wouldn't have made this deal. He's now on the DL with a bum shoulder, when in reality, this was the only way the Padres could get him off the mound w/ at least some dignity.

Those are numbers Duckworth dreams about.
