Our offense will struggle like all the other times they've played against cover 2 schemes.

It will be close and low scoring.

Texans 13
Bears 17

I hope I'm wrong.

It just seems that Carr is a bit gun shy throwing deep. And most of the time, our line doesn't provide enough protection to allow the plays to develop.

5 false starts on our home turf. Jeeez!!!

Three game win streak to finish 8-8
The Texans beat the bad teams and the Bears suck.

We lose the last three 5-11 .... so we get higher drafting to try to get CEDRIC BENSON and changes needs too be maded in the coaching staffs

The Texans aren't drafting a running back in the 1st round period.

The Texans are on a 5 year plan. The coaching staff isn't going anywhere, live with it.

Texans - 17
Bears - 10

i think JPM is right...i have a hard time saying we should spend a 1st round pick on a RB the week after Davis has the week he had...and watching the defensive line unable to put any consistent pressure on the QB all season long. i think i'd be looking for another defense-heavy draft...with an OL sprinkled in.

Texans should roll...If you have Carr vs. Hutchinson, Carr all day long...

I think that we could pick up a decent RB in free agency. I heard that quite a few contracts expire after this season.

I really think we needs to focus on the OL. Trade Pitts - I'm sick of the false starts. It always happens on 3rd down and we never seem to recover from it. I hope Wand will be a much improved player next year. The right side is ok.

I'm not sold on McKinney - He takes too many back steps.

Groogrux
12-14-2004, 02:23 PM
Benson would be a horrible pick. We need a LB, LT, CB, or a pass rushing d-lineman in the first round before we need an RB. Davis has been great since regaining his health.

By the way, every time Pitts screws up, I like to call him Clinton Portis. I'm still convinced that someone said "pick CP" and some idiot thought they meant Chester Pitts and not Clinton Portis. What a dumb, dumb pick.

I don't agree with regards to the running game...If your talking depth, yes...

Also, we need a big time tackle and center...McKinney is not the answer...

I've said it before and I'll say it again....

Ahmad Brooks in round one
Haloti Ngata in round two

safty James Butler with one of the picks in round three.

Those three selections would make massive improvements to the Texans defense. Most importantly, defense up the middle.

For what it's worth, The Sporting News Draft Central currently has the Texans drafting Alex Barron, Tackle, Florida State in round 1, their top-rated tackle. Wouldn't be a bad idea, IMHO.

I'm currently dreading the quick run to the car to drive to the BW3 down the road. It's freaking unreal cold. It makes you shiver so hard that you actually get a decent workout out of it. :)

I'm just happy we didn't get tickets for the game!

I am at school here in Pennsylvania. It's about 4 degrees now. To compare it to anything.... I don't think I can for a texan. It might be like going from a hot tub to a really cold pool. That initial shock remains.

How bad can this O-line be??

They seem to be getting worse every single week.

Even on a third and long, and a shotgun formation.... when they're not even blitzing.... they get ample penetration.

Just awful...

The commentators have determined that the Bears have decided that they like this weather while the Texans don't. Interesting since the Bears have already fumbled twice (lost one) and have thrown a pick (even though Glenn should have batted it down). Commentators suck.

Bad blocking is one thing... but this O-line has gotten far too many penalties (esp. in crucial situations) over the last three weeks.

Now, our O-line just pretty much caused that safety...

We need to just run the ball from here on out. There's no hope with the passing game if the Bears decide to blitz.

It would be nice if he would get it, he had a rough start but he is getting smarter and better each game. Who do you think is ranked ahead of him for the ROY?

Raven Lunatic
12-19-2004, 09:57 PM
Typically, ROY awards aren't as effected by team records. But the New York connection is a factor. Vilma is definitely more visible. But just looking at the stats, I don't see how anyone could take Vilma over Dunta. Dunta has three times as many sacks as a corner rather than a linebacker. He's got more interceptions (which is to be expected) and Dunta is tied, if not the league leader, in passes defensed. That's pretty impressive. Plus, those that have seen him play know that for his size, Dunta is a stellar tackler. He has laid some monster hits on some much bigger players this season. It will be interesting to see how it goes down.

the NFC sucks. i mean absolutely sucks. the very fact that the Bears were still in contention for the playofffs tells you all you need to know. the NFC West may be among the worst divisions I've ever seen. we talk about imbalance in west/east in the NBA and NHL...but the AFC is so much better than the NFC this season, it's silly.

Indy

Plus it makes more since than having Indy playing in the south.

THE LAST ROW BOLD NAMES
Deserving of a prime spot
By John Mullin
Tribune staff reporter

December 20, 2004

After Houston rookie cornerback Dunta Robinson returned a first-half interception 40 yards, he was forced out of bounds near the Bears' 15-yard line. That put him in the vicinity of seats occupied by Air Force Maj. Mike Bollwit, Army Maj. Paula Jones, Navy Chief Migual Rodriguez and Marine chaplain Misael Nascimento, service personnel given special seats by the NFL.

Robinson handed the ball to one of the servicemen as a gesture of appreciation.

"I don't even know if they've been overseas, but for everything those guys have been through," Robinson said, "I just wanted to give them something good."

The seats are part of a pilot program and could become permanent across the league. The four were chosen at random at a recent USO appreciation banquet.

That was something I didn't get, either. He went out of bounds at the 15, and we ended up with 1st and ten on the 40. How in the hell did that happen?

The Bears were actually pretty lucky in this game. Aaron Glenn should have had about 2-3 more interceptions than he did. Texans absolutely SHUT DOWN any attempts to pass the ball downfield. That was fun to watch.
