I have been intentionally absent from this forum. I haven’t read a thread since I left. Things were getting too hateful and ridiculous. I am assuming they haven’t changed. I saw some titles where basso was sarcastic so I doubt much has changed. I wanted BJ to know that my wager is still active. I am as confident as ever that the vocal left is very vocal and in very much in the minority. I believe the bet was Bush with at least 55% pop vote and 300 electoral votes? That was what we decided was a “landslide” for the purposes of this forum, right?

When W wins I hope you guys see that you are in the minority and that the country, for the most part, disagrees with your agenda. I hope also that the right sees the great things that can come out of you guys and we take real steps at uniting this country. I have said it before and I’ll say it again: Almost all of my friends are liberals. That’s who I like to hang out with. That’s who is more interesting and more fun. That’s who rocks. That’s not who should run my country.

It’s going to be a blast tomorrow!

You're going to lose your bet.

No way Bush wins 300 electoral votes. I think it'll be very, very close; but i'm not sold on the young vote just yet; i give the win, by the narrowest margins to Bush. My prediction could change depending on what the news outlets report in regards to voter turnout, especially the 18-29 year olds.

Chance:

The poll's not really right -- the bet was 57% popular. You gave me a choice between 57 popular or 300 electoral and I took the popular vote bet.

Do you want to do popular or electoral?

We'll make a line and go from there!

I'm thinking o/u on electoral at 300 or o/u on popular at 57. Would that work?

I'll take the popular vote bet. We won it last time, so I like our chances keeping you under 57%.

My tix versus your signature. Sound fun?

Very generous offer, Chance. I appreciate it. And the best part of it is I won't even have to change my signature! Gotta love that.

Just posted the relevant bits, but the thread's worth a read. It was a fun one. The bet shows up around page four.

The bet's my signature (I think for a year) versus some Rockets tickets.

If I'm right that it's a year and if I'm right in guessing it's two tickets, there's time to sweeten the pot.

Chance, if you still feel good about your prediction I'll give you four years of sig for two pair of tix.

This stuff is too easy.

Chance, i'll give you 1000:1 odds on bush not getting 55% of the popular vote. i'll give you 10000:1 on him not getting 57%. is there anyway i can get in on this action. i'd vote for bush but neither candidate is getting 55%. there's a shot at 300+ ECV b/c it's so sensitive but 55%? i'll be floored if it happens.

56 is what my internal over/under spread generator is saying so this is more legitimate now. I truly believe that Bush will win with between 55 and 56 percent of the pop vote. So 57 would be a landslide by any definition.

I only have 2 seats so sorry but can't go four tix.

Your on francis 4 prez. The bet is for 55% and the wager is my $10 Paypal versus your $10,000.

Incidentally tonight when they are announcing that Bush won handily they are going to blame it onlow voter turnout. Graceful in defeat? I think not.

Looks like he said 1,000:1 at 55%....if you want the 10,000 you'd have to go with the 57%.

Crap...you're betting $10.

Heck, myswell bet $100 if you are that confident. A loss won't dent your pocket that much but $100,000 would be nice...

Actually my thought is $10 I will actually pay Clutch if my candidate does not get the necessary votes. Clutch should not be expecting the 10G's when Dubya covers.

After a long and hard battle I can see the writing on the wall. It is with pride and reluctance that I concede my candidate's victory by a "large" margin. yes, more people voted for him than any other Predisential candidate ever but lo! It was not enough. I proudly and willfully give a $10 donation to Clutch on behalf of Francis 4 Prez and 2 Rockets tickets for a game TBD by Batman Jones.
