Lane deserves a start as much as Biggio deserves to be sat out game three.

Where has Lamb been anyway? He was so hot during that long winning streak last month.

That's the plan.

And if (when) we win tommorow, I DO NOT start him in game 4... you save him for a game 5 in Atlanta.

Remember... the Braves have lost their 1st round series the past two years because of losing game 5's at their place (thus, it can be done).

I disagree, I think that Clemens goes in Game 4 regardless of the outcome. If we win tomorrow, he goes in game 4 to clench, so we don't have to go back to Atlanta. If we lose, he goes to force game 5. Just because you go up 2-1, you can't take your foot off the pedal, you have to take them out. I don't care what the Braves have done the last two years, I don't want to play a fifth and deciding game away from home if I don't have to.

Man, there was no such thing as lights out Lidge yesterday.

Oswalt had a great day of pitching spoiled.

I guess you can't win them all, but man that one hurt. I see us winning this thing at home this weekend. Time for a COMPLETELY SOLD OUT weekend. No standing room only left.

Let's go Astros!

Can't totally blame Lidge...Garner manages them to 36 out of 46 by using Qualls and Harville in big setup spots...then he brings in Lidge in the 7th and the rest is history. I think this was a big mistake by Phil. When you bring a closer into a game...in a non closing situation (i realize we were up a run so technically it was ...but 7th inning???), you aren't going to get closer stuff. Lidge probably went in there pacing himself to go 2 2/3 and it showed. Not even to mention the fact that you put Lidge in that situation in his 1st postseason role ever...You not only hurt the kid's confidence, the Braves know are confident that they can beat our closer. Bad move!

Not that important. We jumped out to an early 2-0 lead which evaporated...the Braves scored first first gme and they lost that one. I tihnk it's more important to have consistent hitting; we can't win by relying solely on the long ball.

It looks like Boston is about to finish off the Angels today, and the Cardinals could do the same tomorrow against the Dodgers.

Both the Angels and the Dodgers games are scheduled for 3:00 on Sunday .. If this happens do yall think the Astros game would get moved to 3:00? This would be so much better with the Texans game early.

On MLB.com it says if ALL the other series are done (sweeps of the Dodgers and Angels and the Twins/Yanks series ends in 4 games) then the Astros game 4 will be moved to 6:30 PM, which would be great if you ask me.

Houston is hot at home, but, in the end, it's not like you guys get five extra runs just from being at home. It's still a baseball game, and an eighteen game streak or whatever it is doesn't mean anything in the playoffs. Justify your confidence and KEEP winning at home in the playoffs, or your streak won't mean anything and Atlanta will be playing St. Louis. :)

Go Braves!!!

I still think it depends on what happens tomorrow. If the Astros go up 2-1 Garner will think long hard about holding him back to a normal starts rest. There's been some talk that Oswalt won't be able to go on 3 days rest (Heard it on 610), so the question is, do you want to take the chance in having Pete Munro starting game 5?

Sounded pretty definitive in article. Clemens is going game 4.

Garner doesn't want to have to go back to Atlanta for a game 4, and if we lose game 3, there is no way you go with Munro, first, to try and save your season.

I need the Astros to win to erase the heartache of 1999. Walt Freaking Weiss.....

I think someone, either Kent, Ensberg, or Viz is going to have a key at bat in this game with runners on and a chance to break the game open in the late innings. Here's hoping they come through. Here's what I sorta dreamed: second and third, two out.... Astros down a run in the 6th. Kent comes up and shoots a ball down the through the left side between third and short (poetic justice) and with the runners going on contact, Berkman beats out a close play at the plate. Astros go up one, knock their pitcher out of the game. And then play add-on with a late homer by (of all people) Biggio in the 7th inning. Of course, he is pulled soon there after for defensive purposes. Lidge comes on in the NINTH and retires the side in order, Drew, Jones, and LaRoach.

This may be true but he "struggled" in Game 1 too and we saw what happened.

I think Roger is the type of guy that can rise above not having his best stuff, especially at home in front of a wild MMP crowd. He's a bulldog and when his adrenaline kicks in, he can do just about anything.

Look at it this way. In Game 4, either we will be trying to close out the series at home or the braves will be trying to eliminate us. Either way, do you want Munro on the hill? I'd much rather have The Rocket in either situation.

I think we could have pounded Thompson, so I kind of wish he was still in throwing limp. But outside of Smoltz, we should be able to handle their bullpen and leave them in bad shape tomorrow. Although they might bring in Ortiz or Byrd meaning they'd be forced to start the other tomorrow.

Our offense looked ok first time through. Just got a bit lucky, if Beltran's hit is a foot farther, we're up, if Berkman hits it a little softer, we're up, if Ausmus' drive is 5 feet left, we're up. I think we'll score some runs this time around.

There's a reason why he shouldn't be liked right now... if a guy is that possessed to get in his car and drive after drinking (after already been caught once before), as well as SPEEDING on top of it, he's got serious issues and deserves all the flack in the world... even if he is a tremendous baseball player.

Yet again it's up to Paul Byrd at the plate for the Braves (1st and 2nd, 2 outs).

Game 2 not bunting Biggio was bad, but I'm not so sure on this one. With 0 outs, a man in scoring position and two of your best hitters up next, it would seem you take your chances with those guys hitting Bags in. Berkman and Kent just have to do a lot better than that.
