I just got into town this past Saturday and I'm ready to meet some of you fools.

I said in the other thread I'd be there for a game of the Astros first round playoff series.

I'll watch game 1 at my friend's house, game 2 at Live, game 3 at MMP, and game 4 if necessary on the big screen at Reliant stadium if the games are going on at the same time. :p

I was joking anyway. Like I would want any of you guys at my house.

;)

I should be able to get away for the Sat. afternoon game.

Where at? Any place we go will be packed, with the college football crowd.

Too bad you don't live closer. They just opened this really fancy sports bar right in front of my neighborhood.

Sorry I missed you guys. I made a last second decision to go to the game instead of heading up there for the games. I was pissed off at that decision after we didn't make it into the stadium until the 4th inning and after buying more tickets since the Astros' ticket office royally screwed up our afternoon. Ohh...BRO, you WILL be a convert--B-Dub's is ALWAYS a good choice and it's a franchise that is really taking off.

The wings are EXCELLENT, service is fast and they have great drink specials. I've been to three different ones, but the one in The Woddlands is my home base, they know me by name!

I met my buddy and his wife and some friends at the one by Willowbrook mall last night and it was freaking WILD. That place was soooo hyped-up you couldn't hear yourself yelling over the crowd. When Bag's hit the two run shot, it came UN-GLUED!! Plus, we were drinking $1.75 martinis

Try the Carribean Jerk wings--verrrry tasty.

I remember 86 because I had just moved to Los Angeles. After the Stros lost game 6, I left work early and went to a bar on Sunset Blvd. Three hours and 12 shots of Jack Daniels later, I was arrested for public intoxication.

A BW3 update. I ended up having to work a little later than I expected Wednesday so we didn't get to the new BW3 until about 6:15. The place was already packed and we would have been the first people in line for a table(at least a 30 minutes wait, but with the Astros playing it would have been longer cause those people weren't leaving). I had a ton of things to do to get ready for hockey this weekend so we told the manager we were a little disappointed at not being able to sit, but that it was ok we'd just get our food to go. We ordered (Carribean Jerk Wings and Onion Rings were damn good) and we are waiting for our food. The manager comes back over to me and we start talking. I wanted to know about reserving tables for a fantasy football draft next year. While we ar etalking he hands me a couple of free 5 wing coupons and says how sorry he was we couldn't sit down. I again assure him it was ok and that we weren't mad, but I took those coupons anyway. So now it looks like I will have to force myself go back sometimes soon and get 10 free wings ;).

Saturday? Not sure. The game's at the same time as the UT game, so I'm gonna want a place where I can watch both, which you cannot do at Kay's. Not to mention the mojo's gone from the table. Lemme think...BW3 possibly.

I believe so unless there have been some major changes. Only thing that sucks is when the astros are in town all the parking lots jack up their prices. usually they are not even there on saturday mornings so you can park for free but i when the Astros are home they all show up in droves and make sure you pay.

What's ballsy about posting your pic? So what if someone photoshops it. :p. You've seen how Gaming-Age is...I've been posting pics of myself there for over 2 years now.

Anyway, I was down there, had some fun, cheered on the Stros, and we were victorious. The place erupted when Beltran blasted that HR. Then Lance blasted another one. :D

Well usually they do always check ID's to make sure but since i was the one that ordered all the shots and said that is a table of my friends please take care of them they assumed everyone was. So that would be my fault lol....But if you don't purchase the shot there is no harm. It was given to you by someone so your can't be held accountable =P little loop holes everywhere.

Thanks to everyone that came out. I hope you enjoyed it and i could take care of you guys.

Okay ..... tomorrow i recommend coming out a bit early becuase it's going to be hard to reserve a table tomorrow. I have been getting a lot of calls to reserve tables but i have been telling them no becuase i know it's going to be hecitc. So it's going to be bad if i reserve a table for everyone. Since there are different groups of people coming out tomorrow it's going to be harder for me to do that.

The same discounts apply for everyone as long as you let me know who you are and i will take care of a round of drinks as well as knock some off your tab.

Once again I want to thank Stack for the great time and hooking us up. I met kpsta who is a totally cool guy and enjoyed hanging out with him and his friends from work. I also met Miguel and his buddy and while I didnt spend a lot of time hanging out with him, he seemed like a great guy. Thanks everyone and I look forward to the Astros whoopin' some ass tomorrow and getting us to the World Series!!!

I met MB and akperez up there. Tough loss...but we got the ROCKET going tomorrow.

Khalil, sorry I didn't catch you after the game, I was just so f'n bummed that we lost on a Miceli teeball HR.

Also, I dunno if it was all of your waitstaff, but the girl working at the tables in the front was really getting into the game too. When Baggy got that RBI in the 9th, she was high fiving me, my buddy, and everyone around the bar.

I'm contempating going out there again tomorrow. My friend doesn't want to...so he can stay home. I'm prepared to be walking the streets of downtown at 2am celebrating our first World Series ever.

Oops, I forgot.

Master Baiter, kpsta (I think), and akperez, nice meeting you guys, if only for a few moments. It's kinda nice seeing the face behind the posts. Anyway, I still got a little spare cash left, so more than likely I'm going up there tomorrow again. What's the parking like again? If it's not too bad, I'm just gonna go park up there...the train ride is too freaking long during night time. Plus I can't listen to the radio or anything.

Anyway, GO STROS! GO ROCKET!

When I went up there last Saturday I parked in the lot right next to Kim Son, on Milam. It was only $2.50 and about a 5 minute walk to Live.

I was actually considering starting a whole new "Thanks to Khalil" thread, but I don't want to jinx the Astros... the season is not over yet. Maybe I will after we win the whole thing... :)

It was really cool to meet MB, Miguel, and Khalil... and anyone else that I may have missed. We really have a great community here at CF.net and it's always good to be able to meet the people behind the posts.

Khalil- you run a great place, and I'm glad I could bring a good-sized group out from work early to watch the game. The waitresses were great, took good care of all of us-- all while being totally into the game themselves... always good to see that.

Aside from that smug dork with the cigar that was rooting for the Cards (um... hope he's not a friend of yours... hehe...), the other patrons were all pretty nice too. Hope you dindn't give that guy any drink specials... ;)

For anyone who hasn't already made plans for the game, I really recommend heading to Live Sports Cafe. I won't be able to make it out there tonight, but I'll definitely be back another night during the Astros' cakewalk through the World Series. :)

It was nice to meet you too Miguel. MB I didn't get to meet you.....but Khalil pointed you out. I had a great time (despite the outcome :( ).

And thanks Khalil (I'll thank you again after we win)......I'm bummed I didn't come in sooner being your neighbor and all. I'll definitely come in more often now. You have a great place and you seem like a nice guy ;)

There's also one at Milam and Franklin that's pretty cheap if that one is full. It's by the Chase motorbank.

We're gonna tailgate outside of Live tonight. On Monday, in that parking lot next to Stack's place, people had brought coolers of beer and were watching on the building where they were projecting the game. Anyone interested in joining us? We're gonna go park one of our cars over there this afternoon sometime. If we can coordinate a time, we can get a few cars next to each other and have us a big CC.net party!

I'll try to make it out to your tailgate party. I got pretty blitzed after we lost, and am still feeling the effects.

People do it all the time and sell sandwiches during club nights so if you have a small grill i doubt they can say anything to you. Just make sure it's not Gas. your not allowed to have butane downtown. So you have to use a small charcoal grill and i doubt they will say anything....

Definently come buy and get some pizzas to go or something, and i will be out there to drink up the beer.

If I can't get up there from Clear Lake until 7:30, what should I do? My wife can't get off work until 6:30...

The thing is, it is our 4th wedding anniversary tonight, but we want to have fun and watch the Astros win! I just got back in town an hour ago and I don't really know what is going on in Houston.

WHAT SHOULD I DO????

The timing is all messed up to come downtown if she doesn't get off until 6:30. Fire up the grill, buy some beers and liquor and enjoy the anniversary and the win at home.

What time are you going to be there RM95. A couple of my boys want to go down there and watch the game on the street. He was asking me where to go since he doesn't know downtown that well. I will be heading to downtown as soon as I get out of school (hopefully about 7:15 - 7:30). Let me know a time.

I would be there as soon as you can cause i figure by 5 most of the seats will be gone because everyone from the offices are going to come right after work. Can't really guarantee anything but i would definetly get their early.

Nice meeting you guys again...

Khalil, you've got an awesome staff out there. Well, except for the waitress right when I came in and came to my table about 2 times in an hour...but let's not get into that.

Once the waitresses switched out, the service was awesome. She was checking up on the table all night. Never caught her name or anything, but she was the short one with glasses and braces.

Tough loss guys...tough tough loss. This one doesn't sting quite as bad as I thought it would...but the night is young. Great season, look forward to meeting you guys again, as well as others, during Rockets season. (Rarely ever go out for Texans games, considering I work at the stadium home games, and away games I'm too lazy to get out of bed before 12.)
