I went to the premier of the Excorcist at Mann's Chinese Theater in LA last night.
I had low hopes, so the movie did not dissappoint.
Nothing really original, and they go for a lot of cheap thrills.
There were some redeeming moments but overall, very dissappointing.

That kind of sucks. Are there more than 5 good scary scenes? If it can get the adrenaline flowing at least 5 times, I'll see it.

It is worth seeing I guess, but the payoff is severly lacking.

I refuse to see any movie where the director got fired halfway through.
I'd be interested to see the Paul Schrader version of the film (supposedly, the whole thing was completely reshot when they hired the guy who directed Cutthroat Island).

I met the director, they reshot the whole thing in 6 weeks.
The first one they said was not scary enough.
This one was a little creepy, but they went for cheep scares...and it was badly done if you ask me.

One more point.
I was hanging out with Susan Ward at the show, she is one very pretty actress.
However, hollywood is strange, we come out of the movie, and there are a lot of fans there with HER picture to be autographed.
She signs a bunch etc....and I go "Susan, how the hell did those people know to come here with your picture? You aren't even in this movie?"
She smiles and says.. "Aren't publicists great"
What a joke......Hollywood is full of this crap.....
I could not wait to get back to Austin.

Susan in MAXIM (http://www.maximonline.com/girls_of_maxim/html/girl_801.html)
That is the girl we were out with.
She is all that and more.
Hollywood is still a joke, but she was pretty cool.

It was good, I liked it. I didn't think it was going to be as good as the first one; which I don't think it is, but is still a good movie. Wasn't dissapointed.
