The Cavaliers acquired forward Drew Gooden on Friday in a trade with the Orlando Magic. Gooden, center Steven Hunter, and rookie forward Anderson Varejao will go to Cleveland in exchange for forward/center Tony Battie and two second-round draft picks.

The Cavaliers needed to fill the hole left by Carlos Boozer's departure, and Gooden is a good fit. He's not a tough of a rebounder as Boozer, but Gooden can hit the boards and has offensive skills. This move should fit him well. The Cavs also get a couple nice big men in the deal. Meanwhile, the Magic receive a big man with bad knees and a couple draft picks. Unless they choose to start Battie or Pat Garrity, the Magic appear to be angling for Dwight Howard to be in the lineup from day one. That's a lot to put on the kid's shoulder.
