I have a Pioneer VSX-5300 tuner given to me for free. Money is tight for me, and I don't want to spend much money repairing it. Symptoms: I turn it on and the relay either never kicks on the audio, or it turns on audio intermittently (clicking noise as it turns on and off). I want to replace the relay, but first, I need to have some questions answered: 1) What does a relay look like? 2) How do I replace it? 3) Is there more than one in my tuner, and if so, how do I know which one to replace? 4) Where can I get a new relay? 5) How much would a new relay cost? 6) What's the best web site for buying audio tuner parts like this 7) Does the relay just need cleaning, or should I replace it? 8) How hard is it to replace a relay 9) Is there someplace/somebody in town that will do it for me, dirt cheap? 10) is there a web site(s) out there that will help a newbie like me do a repair job like this? 11) Is this task simple enough for a newbie like me? note: I do have basic soldering skills Thanks! -- droxford
