My friends bailed on me. I wanted to go to GiGi's to go see Roc Paint. Now I am stuck in Bentwater. I will probably go down to the country club and get pissed.... sucks....

Man arrested for impersonating a police officer

A registered sex offender who allegedly threatened to arrest female prostitutes unless they performed sexual acts has been charged with impersonating a police officer.

Robert Daniel Bliss, 35, of the 100 block of Tower Drive in Friendswood was arrested Wednesday. Police said he has confessed to impersonating a police officer on 10 occasions in which he "victimized prostitutes."

A woman told police a man driving a green Ford Taurus had been picking up prostitutes near the 3000 block of Telephone Road near the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston. The man told women he was a police officer and would take them to jail unless they performed sexual acts, police said.

One woman copied the man's license plate number and alerted police.

The Texas Department of Public Safety lists Bliss as a registered sex offender for the August 1988 aggravated sexual assault of a 17-year-old female in Warren County, Miss. He was sentenced to 25 years for the crime and was released in March 1999.

Texas records indicate Bliss registered as a sex offender with Houston police in July 1999 and with Friendswood police Oct.23.

Police released a photo of Bliss and asked anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department Major Offenders Division at 713-308-3100.

I'm actually headed to Houston, after I finish up here and get my stuff together. For Rice homecoming weekend. Believe it or not, I haven't been to Houston (except maybe a quick pass through) since January. That has to be some sort of record for me.

I'll be one of those alumni buried deep within the MOB (Marching Owl Band). For the first time ever, I'm not that excited about it - while playing the music and going to the games are fun, I was a little bit too involved during all those years when the "band geeks" were my social life. I have more perspective now. It will be good to see the game, at any rate. Go Rice...

I'm going to Kanamwon tonight, cooking dinner for an out of town guest tomorrow night, and going to a couple's baby shower Sunday. Guess I'm old too.

As for Roy Jones, I don't watch much boxing, but I saw him on HBO last night fighting Ruiz (I think), and holy crap!!....that dude is FAST! His arms are like cobras striking.

There is no other reason to watch Roy but for the pure spectacle that he is. He's so far ahead of all of boxing its not even funny.

No doubt. Actually, it's not the band part I mind. That part was fine. Some of the people around there were geeks in more ways than that, though... to really fit in with some of them, you have to spend many hours sitting on your butt watching movies religiously and obsessively, reading sci-fi or fantasy, and perhaps gaming. It seems like these people take their entertainment very seriously. And that's all good if you want to do it, but it's just not what I'm interested in; I'd rather do something active most of the time. There are places where you can be "uncool" because you aren't <i>enough</i> of a nerd. The whole band's not like that, but there are pockets of it.

Hey, ima_drummer2k, does your user name have anything to do with your function in the band?
