Good news... I guess... although I hope everything's smoothed over with the front office after those reports came out of the NY papers (how he was dissatisfied with Tal Smith, etc.)

He should also be getting a contract extension soon.

It's pretty simple really. Nobody in their right mind would want to walk into the steel trap that is the Mets front office. Sure, they have no real budget restraints, but that is just half the story. The GM will have limited ability to make moves because they are stuck in so many huge contracts.

It's a no win situation.
