Actually I found an article:

Lobo retires from WNBA
Rebecca Lobo, who led the University of Connecticut to an unbeaten season and a national championship before helping launch the WNBA, retired after seven seasons in the pro league.
Lobo, 29, who spent this past season with the Connecticut Sun, was plagued by knee injuries during her seven years in the WNBA.
"This was a decision I made long before the end of the season," Lobo said. "While I still love playing the game, in my heart, I know it's time to move on to a new phase of my life."
The 6-4 Lobo led UConn to its first national championship in 1995 and a 35-0 record.
She was one of the WNBA's original players in 1997, initially assigned to the New York Liberty.
Lobo was traded to Houston before the 2002 season and returned to Connecticut when the former Orlando Miracle franchise was purchased by the Mohegan Indian Tribe.
She averaged 6.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 121 WNBA games.
"There is no better spokeswoman for the game of women's basketball," Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "She represents the game with class, insight and articulation."

Honestly, Swoopes, Cooper, and Leslie would be a better at that than lobo. Each of the women I named are all great players, they come at you with attitude, but with class. When trying to "promote" the game of Womens Basketball, your trying to get male fans to watch. You cant promote the game, being sweet and nice, thats not what basketball is about. Basketball is competitive and aggressive, and those three players I named are that. They are also well spoken.

Did anyone else read Steve Rushin's column in SI 2 weeks ago? He revealed he was married to Rebecca Lobo and wrote an article about how he feels like a WNBA "groupie"
I was stunned to know she was married to an SI columnist. Seems like it would be public knowledge, since he's in "the business."

I knew about it, she told everyone before the season started.
