Well now that the holiday weekend is over maybe we can get back to some discussions. And hopefully we can get a couple of wins in this series, with Roy-O coming back. Surprisingly our starting pitching looks better than the Reds(this may be the first time we have been able to say this for a long time)
Pitching Probables:
7-7 -- Dempster(2-5, 6.65) vs. Oswalt (4-4 3.05)
7-8 -- Haynes (1-8, 5.78) vs Redding (4-8, 4.07)
7-9 -- Graves (4-8, 4.79) vs. Robertson (7-3 5.15)
7-10 -- Wilson (5-5, 4.53) vs. Villone (0-0, 2.63)

I am tired of being a pessimist, we sweep em...and our bullpen gets back on form.

Stros' will win 3 of 4...
They need to sweep, but won't...

I say three out of four or a sweep. I think we match up favorably with these guys in this series.

Not true. Long as they win 3 of 4 I will be happy about our situation. We sit 2 games out of first in a division (and league) where there is not one real dominant team. I think our boys will be just fine.
Hell yeah I wish we could have won 1 or 2 this past weekend. But the Pirates did everything right and that's baseball.

I hope Roy Oswalt shuts the Reds down. So we can start winning again. Roy is the key if we want to make the playoffs.

You just don't know where to look. :)
Tonight's game is not on FSSW - it's on KNEWS, which comes on Ch77 (The Preview Channel) here in Austin. I think there's only been 1 game this season that was televised in Houston but not Austin. It generally only happens during Astros / Rangers FSSW conflicts.
Always check both 77 and 54 for the games.
stros will dissapoint as always.

Awesome. 6-3 good guys. 3 of our runs were unearned and came off of a fielding error. Damn i love the reds for their horrible fielding. :D

reds have horrible starting pitching. haynes has been a real disappointment for them. he was a 15 game winner for them last year and hes only 1-9 this year. none the less, i like it since its helpin the astros win.

Anybody hear anything on Dotel? Did he get hurt or what?

Announcers said it was tightness in his left hamstring. They did not seem overly concerned with it.

Dotel having to sit out a couple of games is not a bad thing, IMO. Hang him up until the All-Star break.

not a bad idea to rest him until the allstar break. I didn't think about this until yesterday - dotel has pitched in 44 of our 80 plus games.

And Wagner has pitched in 45 and Lidge has pitched in 43.

I think this would be a good time to get some guys like Munro and Stone some reps before the AS Break.

Nice start to tonight's game. Bags just missed a 2-run HR to the opposite field (a good sign that he's not trying to pull everything) Berks follows with a RBI Double, Ensberg then drives in Berks with a bloop single. And Adam Everett HITS A GRAND SLAM!!!! Oh My!!

EVERETT hit a grand slam?
You know your pitching sucks when you allow Adam Everett to hit a grand salami. Even to the crawford boxes.

Danny Graves gave up the grand salami:D

The guy that caught the ball was named Robert Grant. I think, that's what I just heard.

I can really see Everett bein an all-star in a few years. You can't get much better D at SS and if he has just decent hitting, that should be enough to get him selected with the lack of SS talent in the NL.
Also, Endsberg is really resemblin Eric Chavez and Troy Glaus; the guy leads a team in HR's that features Berkman, Kent, Bagwell, Hidalgo, that's damn good.

At this point Dontrelle Willis (8-1 1.98 ERA)from the Marlins has to be the odds on choice (at least for rookie pitcher).

When I typed that, I knew there was someone obvious I was missing, but just couldn't remember who it was! Thanks.

It may be a bit premature to ask this, but what kicked this team in the butt? The return of Wagner? If so, I can't wait for Kent to get back.
Edit: Oswalt, not Wagner.

Just think, Willis could be in the Cubs rotation along with Prior, Wood and Zambrano.

Arkoe, the Reds have been pitching with a 4 man rotation and it's obvious their pitchers are tired and struggling worse than they already were. The astros are one of those teams with the power to capiltalize on bad pitching.

Let's finish the sweep and then smash Pittsburgh!!!!!!!!

They are talking about a possible change in ownership on the message boards of the Astros main website.

If this is the thread you are talking about,
http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=ml-astros&msg=9883.1&ctx=0
I wouldn't put much stock in it. I'm sure the media, who are with the team day in and day out, would be all over this if it were true.
The Astros.com message board is about as reliable as the ESPN message boards.

We win 11-2, and the Cards lost to the Dodgers 9-4, so we are 2 games up on both the Cards and the Scrubs.
Nice four game sweep, and bring on the Bucs.:)

I started that thread not planning on giving the name of the potential owner my source told me, and not 5 minutes later the first post got it right. And my source is 100% credible and a major insider as far as this issue.
