The guy is now 7-3 and is pitching better than anyone in the last few weeks. He's done a good job of keeping his pitches off the fat part of the plate and hopefully he'll keep it up after the break. It looks like we've got three legit pitchers and Redding is steadily improving. Plus with Rosario and Hernandez on the dl, we should definitely have a loaded pitching staff come next years spring training.

I thought it was particularly good how this young pitcher could keep his composure after being down real early in the game, then just keep making the pitches to come back and win the game. He is looking like another Oswalt (last year was GREAT!), and our pitching staff looks set for next year.

It's weird to note that Robertson is first in the team with wins (7), followed in second by OCtavio Dotel (6).

Actually, Robertson hasn't lost in 12 straight starts. The team did lose 2 of those games. I'll still take the 10-2!

and Redding is steadily improving.

Redding's ERA and record has been worse each month of this season. You have an odd definition of improving. :)

what do y'all think is wrong with Redding?

he was pitching solid at the start of the year. . . now his wheels are falling off again.

I'd say he's still a pretty decent 5th starter, though.

new topic: what does everyone make of the fact that Carlos Hernandez sits in uniform in the dugout on a daily basis?

do you make of it that I should get really happy and optimistic that he will return to our rotation as the dominant lefty that he was pre-injuries? that's what I make of it. I was just wondering if that's what you made of it, too.

1- Oswalt
2- Miller
3- Hernandez
4- Robertson
5- Redding or Rosario

6- Redding or Rosario
7- Saarloos
8- Munro
9- Lidge
10- Dotel
11- Wagner

just once, I want to see our team go for like 2 or 3 months with this as our pitching staff. just to see it! come on!

okay, I'm going to go watch the Pirates game on TiVo now.

happy 4th ever'body!

I believe that's what I said.
