Was traded to the Rams for a second round pick....

As I said on another board...Why didn't the Texans get in on this!?!

Turley is a good player, bad character.

That's not the kind of player the Texans want.

Good god...What the hell are we doing...

I know he has a target on his back, but damn, we needed someone like this...

A 2nd rounder in 04'...Why wouldn't we be all over this...Boseli is done...

Perhaps we are doing this because Boselli is not done? I know it seems like a long shot, but I'm sure the Texans officials would know a little better than we would.

Maybe we didn't do it because we're getting the player whom the Rams are replacing, Orlando Pace? :D

The Rams have fantasies that Turley and Pace will be bookends together. If Pace doesn't let go of his contract demands, he will stay in St. Louis.

Pace would be awesome, but the Rams were looking for a #1...

With Turley, what's up with Pace...

What's up with Pace is that he wants around $80 million over 7 years WITH another $24 million in signing bonus. That would kill the Rams cap, and would be devastating should something happen to him (as an OT, it's a definite possibility) that would curtail his career. Then if they cut him the whole signing bonus gets applied the next season rather than being spread over the life of the deal. St. Louis isn't willing to go near that high, and can't find anyone who can/willing to go that high.

The Texans are NOT interested in a player with the baggage Turley has. It's a sound policy. Rome wasn't built in a day. Have patience.

Kind of curious that they won't take baggage from an All-Pro (Turley) but will take an ex-All-Pro who had a massive contract and possibly (probably) will never play again (Boselli).

I personally think Turley would have been a great pickup for you. Now I kinda wish my boys would have let Flozell go and traded our 2nd for Turley. Again hindsights 20/20 and maybe Turley will go nuts and have a short career but to give up a 2nd round pick for a Pro-Bowl tackley (who has even played on teh left side) is a bargain.

The last thing an expansion team needs is a lockerroom distraction like Turley. Boselli may be a lot of things, but he is not a distraction on the level Turley is. Besides...did you notice that Payne and Walker were "mysteriously" left unprotected even though they could have pulled both of them back after the Texans took Boselli? Hmmmmm.....

baggage, smaggage; it all comes down to money. they have a lot of it already invested in tony boselli, and not near enough to afford kyle turley.

all other reasons are bogus; if they had the money, and the space, the texans would surely take on turley. why else would they hold discussions with the saints?
