I guess our only hope now is someone comes along and can take his starting job from him. I would think there will be a safty left in the 7th round that could take Matt's place.

I want to echo this question. Is stevens being signed as a backup? I thought we really had a good shot a Keon Carpenter.

good god, settle down, everyone -- they'll take 90-something players to camp in july; at this point and time, they have somewhere between 40 and 50 on their roster -- the need quanity as much asthey need quality.
they cut and resigned stevens, meaning they reduced his cap figure, which really wasn't much to begin with. it's not a big deal, just part of the big picture.
