The Houston Comets will open a four-game preseason schedule with a contest against the women’s Chinese National Team on Tuesday, May 6, which was announced today by the WNBA as part of the 2003 league preseason schedule. The preseason tip-off game versus the Chinese National Team is slated for 7:30 p.m. (CDT) at Compaq Center.
Following the game vs. the Chinese National Team, the Comets will remain at home for the front end of a home-and-away series with the New York Liberty on Saturday, May 10. The Comets then travel to Connecticut for a game against the Sun on Thursday, May 15, before moving on to New York for the second game with the Liberty on Sunday, May 18.

The game against the Comets is one of four games pitting the Chinese National Team against WNBA teams. The National Team will also face the San Antonio Silver Stars (at the University of Texas), the Sacramento Monarchs and the Los Angeles Sparks.
Training camp for the Comets is scheduled to open April 27-28. The Comets tip off the 2003 regular season at Compaq Center on Thursday, May 22, with game versus Sue Bird and the Seattle Storm.
