View Full Version : Anyone have one of those lifes -size Yao posters?
I'm a student in CA, been a Rockets fan since as long as I can remember. It's hard to follow the Rockets in CA, esp. now that NBA.com charges for the 300k highlights.
Anyhow, I love the Rockets and Yao, and I was wondering if anyone has one of those life-size posters/growth charts they'd be willing to give/sell me so I can have Yao on my dorm room wall. Let me know if you have one that you don't want as much as I do or if you have an extra one lying around. Thanks!

Ayw, I have a Yao Ming growth chart and it has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen. I goes from floor to ceiling and smells like plastic when you first put it up. I'm not selling mine but just wanted to express how cool they are. Good luck on picking one up, they're on ebay sometimes.

How much did they charge you for laminating? and where?
You could request one from the Rockets. :) They may give you one. I thought people got them for free. Who would actually buy the poster for $110? I would make my own!
I have an acquaintance w/in the Rockets organization, and she said that they don't have any more. They just printed a certain number and handed them all out at the game for free. It's kinda sad that people are trying to make $50 off a free poster. But hey, it's a free market I guess, supply and demand, just sucks for us poor folks who like the Rockets.

First I went to Kinkos and they said it will be $80 to laminate it! I told them thats nice and that I'll think about it. Checked out some other places and all were close to about a $100. My girlfriend works for a graphic design company and she suggested that her company might be able to do it. I ended up paying $20. Pretty good compared to others. And I have one of the 100 auto ones! WOO HOO!
SLA, you won't get any promotional items for free from the Rockets. Otherwise they would be getting about a billion requests from people trying to make money.
ayw, nothing wrong with selling a poster. If you have one (and dont care much for it) and someone else is willing to pay for it then why not sell it?
UNLESS you are seriously injured. Like Iran Brown. He was shot. That's terrible. Tracy McGrady and the Orlando Magic were very generous to ask him to join them.
Kinko's...heh. "That's nice and I'll think about it". :)

I have an extra, but I'm keeping it in a tube for 20 years from now when Yao Ming is in the hall of fame :)
I have one taped up to the door to the server room in here -- it takes up THE WHOLE DOOR. I went and bought one of those little baskets that hangs over the door as well. You can dunk on Yao Ming :)
