    I personally think Thomas was a bad choice for head coach.

    If he had stepped into a situation like Phil Jackson did (TWICE), then he may have succeeded, but I fully expect him to struggle.

    In one of life's little ironies, Thomas replaces the man he publicly insulted as a player by claiming his perceived greatness was only due to his skin color.

    Wow, I never knew that. When did this happen? When both were still playing? If that's the case, then Isiah is more of a dolt than first thought, and that's pretty incredible.

    Thomas and Rodman both made that claim back when they were Pistons. I'm paraphrasing here, but they basically claimed that if Bird had been black, he would be considered nothing special and that his talents were very ordinary ones for a black player, exceptional for a white player. In essence, they said that Bird was a white media creation.
