The Astros sent Travis Anderson and Mike Nannini to the Cubs to complete the trade. I don't know about these players but Nannini was a first round pick who people are stating has great potential.

Damn...I had heard good things about Nannini, albeit not recently. Oh well, I guess with the abundance of good, young pitching currently on the Astros, they can afford to be giving up decent prospects for needed vets down the stretch.

True Raven. But we find many good pitches. Losing him will probably get us two more. It will definatly give someone a chance to show their stuff in the minors.He played in AA right?

Right, and his numbers really weren't very good this season. His ERA was over 5 and he apparently wasn't very impressive. Maybe this turns out to be a good trade.

Like the Cubs need another pitching prospect...

They should have asked the Astros for some good hitting prospects. Especially since Alou, Sosa, and McGriff are like all around or above 35.

Nannini was still a good prospect. Rohlicek was the biggest loss of the trade though because the Stros just don't have many quality leftys at any level. Greg Miller is probably the best prospect left in the system that's a lefty but is he a better prospect than Jeromie Robertson even?

Is it just me or does anyone else think it's funny that the Cubs could have Rohlicek, Nannini, Travis Anderson, and Wilfredo Rodriguez pitching for them next year at AA?

how would they have Wilfredo Rodriguez? did we trade him to them? what the dilly?

Houston "designated him for assignment" in order to drop him from the 40 man roster. He went through the waiver process, I believe, and the Lovable Losers claimed him & the Stros let him walk.

No big loss, he had loads of potential but he was a headcase & his pitching mechanics were a nightmare.

Speaking of unfulfilled potential, there was an Oscar Henriquez sighting on SportsCenter recently, I can't remember who he was pitching for.
