Snail slow.....

Haven't been here in a while. Bad season for the Rocks, couldn't work up a whole lot of enthusiasm. And the current technology is so slow, it's not worth the effort.

Back in '97 and '98, response time was so much better even using 19.2 Kbps dial-up. Don't know what the problem is today (hopefully, Clutch, it's just huge amounts of traffic :) ). But even with cable modem and Roadrunner, this is the slowest site on the 'Net. Like to keep up more often, but I can't afford the waiting time. :(

Man, thats gotta be just you. This is always one of the fastest loading sites for me, whether I'm on the network at OU, or on my 56k at home.

I hope you're talking about the <B>BBS</B> alone? The front page (http://www.clutchcity.net) should be blazing fast.

As for the BBS.... yeah, it's slower .... since we won the top lottery pick traffic has soared and it's definitely slower (if you think it's the slowest site on the net though then yeah, it's probably not just us -- probably your connection), particularly during the week. Right now though (weekend), it's very fast for me. I've listened to a few options, but I can't say I have any immediate plans for a change. Just can't afford dollar-wise a major jump up in server, even with the help of the <a href="http://www.clutchcity.net/tipjar.cfm">tip jar</a>.
