first of all, I haven't seen a houston team win in person in about 2 or 3 years. One Astros win over the Dodgers during that span. Since then I've seen the Rockets lose to the Clippers 3 times, the Stros lose to the Dodgers and phillies.
Tonight's loss was so frustrating. Primarily it was frustrating because it looked like Redding was going to get shelled early on. Then he fought back, found control of his curve, and was damn near unhittable for 3 or 4 innings. The curve was out of control in the first two innings, but once he was getting it over he was really, really good. Which gave me hope.
but then we made Duckworth look like a right handed Sandy freaking Koufax! His stuff was not that good tonight. At least not 12 strikeouts good. There must have been 5 called strikeouts on curve balls -- we were frozen by the damn curve.
And, by the way, the following Astros are sh!t:
1. Craig Biggio. Looked pathetic in every at-bat.
2. Richard Hidalgo. I don't care if he had that clutch hit. He missed at least 4 different pitches by a foot, and his fat ass was thrown out by 4 feet on Ensberg's bunt.
3. Nelson Cruz. His first five or six pitches in the ninth were balls. The guy who hit the walkoff homer was hitting .118.
p.s. I have no idea why Berkman went bonkers. From where I was sitting both called strikes during his last at-bat were called correctly. He should have swung the damn bat.
