The lineup should go like this
Jason Richardson
G. Wallace
Stevie Wonder
Baron Davis
Stromile Swift
Vince Carter
It would be tight if Kobe and T-Mac decided to be in it.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that Vince does not participate in the dunk contest ever again.

I think these guys would make it a good contest also:
D. Stevenson
T. Chandler
J. Bender
D. Mason
R. Tomjanovich...I wonder if he can still dunk it, either way it would be fun :D .

Last year Kobe and Vince said they would enter this year. They think it's between them, but watch for THE FRANCHISE!!!

When do tickets go on sale? I already got tickets to the Rookie All-Star game. They were cheap. It cost 30 bucks for all lower-level seats.

Watch out for Richardson, as a witness to some of his dunks I can tell you he comes with a flavor all to his own. He brings a sort of nastiness that has been missing since Kemp and Nique have been gone. Well Kemp is still here, but well... lets just say girth and gravity are like oil and water.

Vince has already said he's not competing; in fact, I think the article was in Toronto's paper and the AP about a month ago.
No ijury, just a lack of desire.

I'm going to get tickets to it. Wink's gonna win it. I'm also going to the Rookie game. Do tickets to the dunk contests sell out fast?

Nice work. Cant stop the HAM DUNK and SI coverboy! It was fun to watch Ham and Sasser at Tech that year (95-96). Unfortunately they lost to Iverson and Othella Harrington in the Sweet 16. Ahhh those college memories..........

In the 80's guys who enetred the dunk contest wer al most all stars or probably the best players on the team, now you have guys win the dunk contest and be out the league the next yr. Thats why the support of it has gone down. A lot of fans can't relate to stromile swift and guys like that, but if Carter,Kobe,McGrady,Francis and guys like that were in it, the fans would really be stoked. The yr Carter won it, I think they shafted McGrady and Francis.

What it will come down to is that the dunk contest will suck no matter who is in it. Until we discover anti-gravity rubber or the NBA allows the use of flubber, the same old tired dunks will be repeated year after year. It was a nice novelty fifteen years ago, but now it has lost its swagger. At least there's still milestones to be accomplished with the long range shooting contest...we can still hope to see some guy shoot perfect.
All-Star weekend sucks! The only interesting thing is to see if that lucky dork in the shaving razor-sponsored half-court shot contest can win his million dollars. Call me a simpleton, but I get a kick out of seeing those folks try to earn their retirement from half-court.
Sound-off over!:)

that's what made vince carter's dunkalicious display so amazing. he was creative with every dunk.
the first dunk was ab-so-lute-ly insane. reverse 360, finish with a one hand windmill with PLENTY of room to spare???? no one gets tired of seeing new creative dunks.
what people get tired of is the same dunks covered by multiple people of the years. it's like hearing a song getting remade time and time again. how many times do i have to hear different versions of cindi lauper's "time after time"????? the original is almost always the best.
someone should tell that to nba wannabe dunk champions .

Verse...you're right. It's just so rare that someone spends time trying to figure out something new. It seems like those guys wait until they get the ball in their hands to search for dunk-inspiration.
This is what it's all about...Dominique!
