View Full Version : "We're giving the m*****f***** game away! That's b***s***!"
Not that I'd use that kind of language myself. That's a quote from Rudy T during a 4th quarter huddle tonight. Those of you who wondered about his play-calling late in games now have you're answer. He's calling the old "MF" play.

that's a decent play; something new from rudy

I think that kind of language is perfect to describe the officials. We should have put it away from the line, though.

I would be like Rudy T too seeing the horrible calls.

Will...I loved hearing Rudy T with the fire in his ass speach. I thought his team at the time very much deserved it. So kudos to Rudy.
But as to the playcalling. Am I the only one who realised that running and gunning at the begginings of the first and second half, gave the Rox the advantage. And when they slowed it down at the end of the 1st half and end of regulation is when the Suns made their moves.
Running and gunning is also what led to Shandon's wild giveaway pass at the end, which killed us. Oh, for an Olajuwon post-up right then.

You run off of missed shots by your opponent. You don't just RUN to run, it has to be there. The Rockets ran GREAT tonight, with the exception of Shandon giving the game away in the 2nd over time.
I am already sick of Anderson, I think Utah knew something the Rockets didn't.
Shandon is a role player, not a starter.

Looks like Anderson is replacing Drew as the new scapegoat.

Did you guys see the replay of the Anderson turnover??? Looked more like he was driving, dished to Mobley (all beit wildly), the pass hit Mobes right in the paw.
Now regardless of how a pass gets their, if it hits you in the mits and gets away, its not the passers fault.
Ok so how many points did Cato have during motion and running??? and how many did he have in OT (when the rox slowed down)???

We did give the game away: Missed free throws, costly turnovers, and why hasn't the team stepped up and demanded that charles stop shooting 3-pointers. Charles is a warrior and my favorite of all the rockets but for someone who likes to preach about how rookies are all stupid hasn't realized that he hurts this team when he hoists those 3's. Like everyone though, I have seen a lot of improvement and this team will be a SLEEPER in the playoffs.

Shandon could have made an excellent play with Mobley possibly making the three point play. You never throw the ball behind you when driving towards the basket.

DaDakota:
Oh? so now the game is all Shandon's fault, huh? If the Rockets had won, you would not be saying any of this.
Did you not notice the great help defense he was playing? Did you not see all of the missed layups the Suns had due to great support from Cato and Anderson?

I thought Shandon was very active, and it was nice to see him in the game at the end. He hit some clutch FT's and rebs in the fourth when they were losing ground. He def needs more PT, and he will shine for a long time.

We had 2 possessions in the last OT where it was tied or we were two points away and Rudy T. did not call a time out. I remember the second time, Anderson drove to the middle and threw it away.
Also, are we the worst FT shooting team in the league. I know our TO's are the worst.

Shanson Anderson had a fantastic game. He was all over the floor tonight.
This team is becoming fun to watch finally.
Was Francis breakin Jason Kidd's ankles are what. Did yall see the frustration on Kidd's face tonight.
Man that would have been classic if Shawn Marion would of slammed it in our goal.
I know this sounds repetitive but, if the Rockets could just make one are two more free throws down the stretch...our record would be much better.
One more thing, I hate Mike Mathis's guts!

I know I really hate Mike the Bitch Mathis. Not because Sir Charles does but because he is a ****ed up ref. He is always messing with barkley. He is one sorry ass ref. And i wish one day charles headbutts him like Dennis Rodman did to the ref. By the way who was that ref rodman did that to?

Are the Refs getting worse? Is this game getting more difficult to call?
Maybe we need 21st century technology that registers touches on opposing players to help mitigate the optical deficiencies of these guys (I intentionally excluded the women...they seem to be the most competent).
What's most bothersome is when an exceptional play is made, and the Ref behind the player assumes that contact must have been made. Ugh.
What was the name of that Ref with the chip on his shoulder for Clyde? The one that booted him in the 1st qtr of the playoff game...didn't he lose his job over that?

Does anyone know if this ref (Mathis) is a Mormon? They have it out for us - from the Utah rivalry... Chuck probably knows him better than the rest of us.
I REALLY hate to bring religion into the ballgame, but Mormons (in my experience) don't separate it. I'm always dubious of Mormon refs...
Anyone know the score there?
Admin note: Indeed. The score is treeman 7, Admin 0 in days suspended for this post. We REALLY hate to bring ignorance into the ballgame, but we're always dubious of such postings.

The reason we lost: We got tired. We have no depth at the 4 & 5 with Hakeem out. We took Cato & Chuck out & had to bring them back due to the run by the Suns. These two ended up playing (I believe) the last 6-7 minutes of regulation, along with all 10 minutes of OT.
Simple fact is Charles is older and he needs a breather every once in a while, and Cato isn't use to that extended time either. Both looked great when they were fresh, but especially in the 2nd OT their tired legs showed.
All in all a great game though!

NO, the reason we lost is because we couldn't hit our FTs. Dammit, everyone has to understand this: if you shoot 50-60% on FTs when the other side shoots 70-85%, all things being equal, YOU"RE GOING TO LOSE THE GAME!!!
Plain and simple.
It hurts me to see us fight so hard only to lose... And knowing that we could've won OFF OF FREE SHOTS!?!
Major disappointment. Did not have to happen.
Wanna know what a former Army officer thinks of it? You just found out. Major disappointment. Unacceptable. Especially considering that the loss came by FTs... God, totally unacceptable. Shame.
We'd better beat the Clips tonight.

Did I mention the Rockets should hire Calvin Murphy as the free-throw coach? http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/wink.gif

We oughtta hire Clyde as our Head Coach.
That will put our running game first - and set aside the half-court game... even Chuck's getting tired of it - why ya think he's takin those stupid shots?!?
I want Clyde to coach the Rockets.
There, I said it. I'll say it again: I want Clyde to coach the Rockets.
No one knows the running game better than Clyde "The Glide" Drexler...
I'd put Rudy in a top-management position and give Clyde overall direction of the troop...

I feel like I've said blasphemy... at the same time that I've said "Salvation!"
I think Clyde has been waiting to coach this team for a while. I'm a UH Alma Mater, and I can guarantee you Clyde wasn't content with teaching fish how to swim in a bowl...
Clyde not only deserves the job, it's really his inenviable - and inevitable - right to have the job. Could anyone think of anyone more qualified?
If this is not a "Player's Coach", then I don't know what is, or who could be one...
Clyde Drexler. A man who could roll up his cardigans and put any man down...
And even if you beat him, you'd still get down on hands and knees and thank God you had the chance to play him...

One thing tho - Clyde has to wait until Hakeem retires.
That's just the way it has to be - Phi Slamma Jamma................
