Texans Uniforms?

This is a dumb question, but I had to ask....

Why would the Houston Chronicle put on the cover of the sports page today, what the Houston Texan Uniforms will look like. Since, they are suppose to have the unveiling later this evening. That kinda ruins the suprise and presentation, doesn't it?

Well, they weren't pictures of it I guess . . . just bad drawings that didn't represent the coolness of the unis.

i thought the SAME thing. the team even released an official photo of the helmet.

perhaps, just maybe, they thought "celebrating" such a non-event was a bit crass, and so they made it less of a silly fashion show, and more about coming together and celebrating things of true merit, such as the american spirit...

releasing details of the uniforms maybe helps redirect our focus.

and, fwiw (i don't really care either way), but i was hoping for a red jersey and either white or gray pants on the road... but, oh well, at least the cosmectic decisions are officially over -- time to focus solely on football!

thanks for stopping by (our message forum is currently running into some technical difficulty, but otherwise, hope you enjoyed the trip!).

to answer your question, re: TV -- good question. when it was still scheduled for 9/12, espn 2 was slated to air it live. they'll definititely be there, and NFL 2 Night is on at 6:30pm... so it'll, at the very least, get ample coverage, but will it be live...? i don't know.

obviously, the local news stations will be covering it live.

The uniforms looked good. From what I could tell anyway, being colorblind doesn't help. I thought they'd go with a red shirt though. Oh well, that leaves the door open to the Rockets to go back to red.

Liked the uni's, but I wish they would do away with the stripes. It's jsut me, I like solid uni's better. Very good effor though.

those stripes, i think, are supposed to be bull horns. eh... for those wanting a mental image, imagine john elway running into drew bledsoe...

They look pretty good. I just wish that shoulder stripe thing wasn't there. But overall, I like them!
