This, I hate how most of people here always blame the refs instead of focusing on the fact that we blow the majority of possessions and make unbelievable mistakes. If we don't leave Terry open on all these clutch situations, mess up our defense rotations and rush shots this game wouldn't have gone to OT.

Wonder how Pat feels about this? Played a horrible game but you know if Nowitzki made the same moves he'd get a foul every time. Maybe his tweet had something to do with it, even though it's incredibly evident that he was correct in his assessment of NBA refs?

lee went cold at the end of the regulation, must have been due to the heavy minutes. If only we had a small forward, one that could have been a 14th pick, to at least spare him seven minutes, lee wouldn't have missed all those shots.

So that we end up with no championship and no addiditional talent for next season, so that it's the same again for the next years? People that want us to make the playoffs instead of getting 2 or 3 picks are shortsighted and don't understand how you get us out of this cycle.

I agree with you. Ive watch alot of NBA over 20 years of it. 2002-2012 is the worst reffing I have ever witnessed and im getting more and more of an aptitude to tell the difference. If we don't leave Terry open on all these clutch situations, mess up our defense rotations and rush shots this game wouldn't have gone to OT.
This, is bad reasoning.
Sure, players need to tell themselves this so they strive to become better, but we as fans and spectators don't need to try to trick ourselves into accountability. You more or less just said that we need to be a better team and not get in close games. Further, we should be so good so as not to let mistakes from the refs actually matter...
Maybe if we're the Heat and we lose to the Bobcats, then your reasoning is a little more valid -- the Heat would have to severely underperform to be in that position. Even so, every team has good and bad nights -- that's just how it works -- so ref calls are absolutely crucial in crunch time.
And it's not like we're the Heat. Our top two scorers are out and we were up against the defending champs. If you expected us to dominate the Mavs to the point of rendering refs' mistakes irrelevant, then you're in a fantasy world.
The entire 4qt and OT they had Marion guarding Dragic and Kid guarding Parsons, we didnt even try to post up Parsons once evethough he is 6'9 and Kid is 6'4. We should have at least tried.

It was a have-to situation. Did you really want to see any more of Fortson? He cannot run the offense. McHale didn't sign him. Morey did. We needed Lowry last night off the bench in the worst way. With Lowry running the bench brigade, we win by 5+ points.

They didn't play many minutes because Camby was the only guy off the bench who didn't play like dog crap.
I'm sure if McHale had played Fortson 12 minutes and the Mavericks get a nice lead from that, you would be bitching about that too.
I know you don't want to acknowledge this DD, but maybe this team might actually be better off or deeper if we have either our best player or our top scorer in the game. Just a thought.
I haven't been this angry at a loss for a long time, largely because of how bull**** it was. Also, because from Friedman is reporting, I'm pretty sure Lowry has meningitis or encephalitis or something like that. I had that before, and it's way too similar to how he is right now. So I pretty much think he's done for the year.

The rockets were robbed of this game, just like they were robbed by Tim Donaghy back in the 2005 playoff series against the Rockets, but this time Mark Cuban managed to pay off Tony Brothers. Tony Brothers had several key calls in favor of the Mavs, which ulitmitaly decided the game:
1. The 3 pointer by Lee that was even reviewed, but they still got it wrong, cuz Tony Brother's ego was too big to change his original of a 2 to a 3.
2. The offensive foul call against Dragic, when it was clearly a foul against Dirk. Dragic should have had 2 free throws for a chance to go up by 2.
3. The foul call against Houston with left, when Dirk missed a point blank layup because of good D, he wasant even touched, and all because the ref anticipated the call.
Seriously though, no one could stop Tim Donaghy from placing tens of thousands of dollars in bets on games to make some extra cash. The NBA has done nothing extensive, except a slap on the wrist. I guarantee there are other refs in the NBA from part taking in such activities, theres nothing stopping them but their conscience. Something needs to be done. Officiating in the NBA has gottten outta control!
