Imagine if we had one SF with Morris's versatility, Williams court vision, and Budingers shooting ability. But to answer your question, I think its wonderful depth but could use some more defense/rebounding.

I truly hope MarcMor pans out at the 3. Would be nice to see him pound smaller 3's down low.
Bud and TWill are like dumb and dumber...
I don't mind Bud, I just haven't seen much improvement.

morris is more consistent outside around 20ft and will be better able to defend elite small forwards in the long run. chase does better of the bench.

Out of those three I think Chase wins out because of effort and experience.
Another factor is if Williams can Defend the 3. He has said on more then one occasion that he feels he is to small guard to guard the typical 6'7/6'8 nba three.
If the thinks he can't hang his lack of confidence and mental focus will show on the floor.
Morris Could turn out to be Danny Grangier or Carlos Rogers I have no idea till he gets on the floor.
But I highly doubt he starts out of the gate just because of lack of experience.

Agreed. As impressive as Bud has been, he tapered off towards the end of the season. He's better off as an explosive score off the bench, capable of hitting 3s to give the starters some rest. Along with his suspect defense, I can see MM easily beat him out in the starter position.
Plus we're comparing the 14th pick to the 44th pick. Unless somehow Chase becomes a legitimate threat by himself and develops some solid D or some quick hands, I don't see him holding the starter position for long.
Last year he was able to start because, well, anyone can start over headcase Terrence Williams. This year will be much better.

I honestly hope not, he has no value right now and can only turn it around for the better because he can't be any worse.
I'd prefer he stays, no team will touch him via trade

Why call him MarcMor? Morris is shorter to type and sounds better and is his actual name. Or even Marcus...
It's Motiejunas that needs the nickname here.

No way, T-Will still has a contract - and Bud has hit his ceiling. Terrence still needs to show he has the 3 covered for offensive purposes, and Morris will show he has it covered for defense. Bud will be the odd man out.
Hey Bud, let's play elsewhere.
Is Morris really a SF? I see none of his game translating to 3 like Beasley or Derrick Williams. I saw someone compare him to Paul Pierce yesterday. I see none of that either.

he can drive, he's got a great jump shot, can do great fadeaways, he play pf so he can also post up, he's athletic and quick and can defend small forwards around the league. bud on anthony or james was terrible.

It seems to me that this will be our lineup going into the season
Notable Trades (if any)
Flynn + Scola + Jordan Hill + T will + 2012 (you heard me) first rounder for Josh Smith + Jeff Teague
Offer the following Centers the MLE or Less, but lets be realistic:
Dalembert
Nenad Krstic
Try the Greg Oden experiment
New Line up
PG: Lowry/Dragic/Teague
SG: Martin/Lee/Cbud
SF: Smith/Morris/Parsons
PF: PPat/Motiejunas/Hayes
C: Free agent C/Yao/Thabeet

T-will is actually 6'7 which is perfect for a SF.
Morris is 6'9 PF. Tweener means he is too small. He is actually to unathletic to be a SF

He's one of the least athletic power forwards in the draft.
Marcus Morris is not an elite physical specimen, but he did register a positive wingspan to height ratio (6-10:6-7) at a solid 230 pounds. While he's still slightly short and not as long as the average power forward in our database, his mature offensive repertoire should help him overcome those limitations early in his career. Considering that many thought he would come in with a shorter wingspan than his height based on measurements conducted last summer, he probably helped himself in this regard, as he joked about in an interview with us. With that said, Morris would have the shortest wingspan of any power forward drafted in the first round according to our database.

Nenad is going overseas, so he's out of the nba for now
So he's a poor mans Melo?
I'd say he's a Melo who scores less, but defends better. By scoring less, i mean not a 30ppg scorer, but possibly 20-25.
As for our SF spot....if Morris can knock down the NBA 3 at a better rate, then what purpose would budinger serve? Morris would start and the back up 3 can be split between lee, twill, and even Parsons. I wouldn't be surprised to see Budinger traded, unless he improves his defense and ball handling this offseason.

rox looking at moving him to the 3. he has the quickness to hang with the fastest 3 in the nba...not to mention his experience as a 4.

Too many ifs right now...
Will there be a season? How many games? Training camp?
McHale's system? Defensive gameplan? How much the offense will stay like Adelman's motion?
Do any of the 3 improve in offseason? Fit in with those systems? Grow next year with the team? Mesh with the coaches?
All of it makes me sad there will be no D-League this year, but I guess that will at least make it so that no of the Clutchfans populace can develop false hope.

T-Will is listed everywhere as 6,6. Morris is listed as 6'8 on some 6'9 on others. What I meant by tweener is that he not good enough to play the 3 or 4 permanently, he is a half-half, where he plays wil purely depend on matchups.

According to nbadraft.net, 6'9" tall with a 6'7" wingspan.

Chase wasn't traded, and Terrence Williams will be moved to the 2 spot -- Although we still do have a SF dilemma with Marcus Morris, Chase Budinger and Chandler Parsons
But with this new added depth, It really allows to do some trades like the one offered by the bulls, to meet some positional needs (namely Center).
Possible Trade Examples:
Courtney Lee, Jonny Flynn or Goran Dragic and Chase Budinger for Omer Asik and 2012 Charlotte pick
Luis Scola and Jordan Hill for Robin Lopez and Michael Petrius(trade filler)
It removes some unwanted depth and gives us some legit centers.
Lowry | Dragic/Flynn
Martin | Williams
Morris | Parsons
Patterson | Motiejunas
Lopez | Asik | Thabeet
Luis Scola and Jordan Hill for Robin Lopez and Michael Petrius(trade filler)

Come on, even casual NBA fans know Lopez is a joke starter. He doesn't even average 15mins a game.

It seems we've got the parts to hopefully get a deal done with Chicago for Asik. Lee, Thabeet, Hill for Asik, Korver makes a lot of sense to me.

listening to the interview, it seems that the 6'9:9'7 measurment comes form a lebron/amare basketball camp in which marcus refutes the accuracy of the results. The combine results (Easily most accurate) show that he is 6'8, with a 6'10 wingspan.

Weaknesses: Lacks great bulk and optimum size/strength to bang in the post
Unable to physically overpower top level post players
Surprisingly short arms. At 6-9 and with a 6-7 wingspan, lacks great length for the post position
Doesnt stand out defensively
Lacks the foot speed to defend small forwards
No shot blocking ability
A year old for his grade
Draft Express has his wingspan at 6'10, though. Idk which's real.

Those shoes are high heels though. Either way, as a SF, 6'8" or 6'9" would make him a big SF. Fans expecting a 6'9"+ SF are just nitpicking. The knock on him isn't his height at SF, but his agility, explosiveness, and athleticism.

That's my impression also. He may be able to play SF for short periods but I don't consider him to be the answer at SF full time because of what you posted. He's a good kid, a hard worker, tough player and all but I would have taken Leonard at 14.

He said at the Lebron camp they screwed up the measurement. They started saying he had trex arms since, but that at the combine they got the measurements right.
