SSG,

Googs has looked slower and doesn't jump like he did before his surgery. Maybe he will come around, and maybe he won't. If he does get traded to the Hawks, he will put up good #'s.

smeg,

What did you purchase? Jersey, Hat?

Sounds great smeg. Its time for me to get a new hat. Probably get a shirt also.

Anyway, Mofo picked up Horace Grant to match my game total of 19. Should be an interesting game. She should have just saved the games for later, cause she won't win this one.

Dammit Pimp. I think you're gonna take me this game because of my boneheaded roster move of putting Sheed on the bench. For some reason I thought I saw that he was playing the first 2 games, not the last 2 games of the week. AAAHHH!!!! STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!!!!!!

Even with the fact you loaded up on games, I may have been able to win, but now there's no freakin' hope unless GP just up and dies or somethin'...

A perfect opportunity to put some space between myself and another pretender to the HoopDaddy throne completely gone to waste. It's bad enough I've got injury problems, but to compound that with stupid roster moves... dammit, I oughta fire myself! http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

He got 10 boards last night, but only took 7 shots. I don't know what is up. It's one thing to be inconsistant, but to simply fall off in production like that is unusual. I sure hope it's just a slump and not some indication of things to come.

I think it's an indication of things to come.

Gugliotta is back and will steadily improve, Cliff Robinson has got his game back on track and has been playing awesome, plus, Penny will be back eventually. Also, Marion is still a young'un, so he's liable to run into the "second-year wall."

Personally, I would have tried to trade him when he was putting up 50+ point games on a regular basis, like I did with Baron Davis. I guess I just don't have much faith in the consistency of really young players.

Who knows, though, I could be wrong. Maybe it's just a temporary slump.

I actually thought of that. I felt reasonably sure he could not sustain 50+ a game. But I believed he would get a steady 40+, with an occasional 50+ or more. Since he is my only decent SF, I would have had to get a similar scorer in return. And let's face it, nobody in this league would have given "the devil" his due while I was winning.(Thanks Smeg!) http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

But to see him drop this far has got to be an anomaly. So when is that "Googs to Atlanta" trade supposed to happen, anyway? http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/wink.gif

Yes, but you're about to run into a steamroller this week when you face the killer fish. Have you noticed which team seems to usually get the weekly high score? More often than not, it's mine, but due to poor scheduling I haven't quite cracked the upper echelon of teams yet.

Also, you only have 11 games to my 12.

The team in the league with the best win-loss record at the end of the season will win the league.

If there is a tie between two or more teams at the end of the season, the tie is broken by these tiebreakers in this order: total fantasy points, most field goals made during the season, and most free throws made during the season. If there is still a tie, then both teams will go on to play in the post season for prizes.

Is 695 to 692 the highest scoring game so far, man this is going to be a disappointment for one of us, how can anyone lose scoring in the 690s.

Great game SSG whichever way it goes, manual recount or shall we go to the unbiased supreme court????

Yada yada, and you lost to some of the worst teams in the league, so let's make them champions. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Let's see... ya lost to... GEEZ... the P-Town Mo Fo Destroyers? The team that really had nobody running them? http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/wink.gif

And you lost to the Lubbock Red Raiders, too?

Just because you load up on games and other teams have a bunch of bye weeks doesn't mean you're better. The total number of fantasy points is a better indicator of how good a team is. You were ranked #3, but I see at least 8 teams ahead of yours in total fantasy points.

I still say Crisco, Behad and fadeaway have the best lineups in the league, but sorry scheduling has really cost Crisco (not to mention some really weird lapses by some of his players).

If I could get Anfernee back and keep that dork Jim Jackson healthy, I'd have a lineup that could compete against anybody, but until then... I'm among the 2nd tier, records and standings not-withstanding. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

What can I say? It's tough to beat your team when Shaq plays three games, that lil' &!*$% Jason Terry killed too.Overall though great game however it goes.I want to appear a patriot to my fellow league members but a recount would be sweet.....nothing's in the books as of the last time I checked so who knows but I have my doubts http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

Why didn't you offer me a trade then?Power forward is the strongest position on my team.I'm not too interested in Murray or Atkins at this time.....if only you hadn't traded Steve for Atkins and White, you could have gotten Sabonis and Ratliff for Steve from me......Oh well if you need 4's take a look at my roster and make me an offer;the only guy I won't move(have to be blown away)is McDyess other than that I've got Mase,Ratliff, and Gugliotta.

Seeing how Grant was the recipient of 3 bogus calls by the refs to put him in foul trouble and basically keep him on the bench, he is going to have a MONSTER game tonight against the Warriors. Duncan is also going to have a big game. So it comes down to O'Neal and Croshere.

Looks like I'm going to pull out the win after all, Bob. O'Neal played well, but Garnett exploded this week with two 80+ point games. Right now, the score is 474-414 with only Brian Grant (who has 4 fouls, 3:44 in second) left playing.

Y'know, having a balanced team is important, but sometimes it's nice to have a stud player like Garnett to fall back on. It helps to make up for the crap numbers put up by the lesser players.

What?? It was Elie, not Googs, that took Marion's playing time. Skiles wanted more defense. Now that Elie is out, Marion's playing time and production will return to normal. My offer included a good upgrade for you at PF. How was that rape? http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/confused.gif

Smeg, I still don't understand your "rape" comment. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/confused.gif I do want Shaq, but I'm not gonna gut my entire roster for him. What do you think is fair? behad@yahoo.com

From ESPN:

Expectations for Shawn Marion have risen like his stock this season. It's sometimes easy to forget that Marion, the ninth player selected in the 1999 draft, missed 31 games last season because of a left knee injury. Marion scored season-low four points in the squeaker at Chicago on Monday. His knee, covered by a protective sleeve, still is sore. "But I'm all right, though. It's bothering me a little bit, not bad," Marion told the Arizona Republic.

Coach Scott Skiles said that Marion has not been as effective as usual on the team's four-game road swing. He worries about his player's stamina. "Shawn still hasn't played a whole NBA season yet, and the pace of this is very hectic," Skiles told the paper. "If you've never done it before, it can catch up to you. Hopefully it's just a two- or three-game deal."

Killer Bees,I know for a fact I did not offer you anything for Nowitzki.I dont have much to offer for him and I know better than trying to get him with two scrubs and the only players I have to offer for him I dont want to give up.

I have made a number of offers for Wright and I did make an offer for Artest but when I made an offer for Artest his FP average was around 27 or 28.

The last offer I made was Wright Hamilton and Porter for Nesterovic Atkins and Murray,I thought it was a good deal, all the players involved are borderline waiver wire/bench material besides Atkins.

For your opinion on Marc Jackson,if you think he will be a bust in a week why did you make me an offer for him?It was only Lorenzen Wright but still.I know he can very well go back to the bench but right now the way he is playing Golden State would be stupid to put him back on the bench! The last five games he is averaging around 20 points and 7 rebounds and if he stays in the starting lineup I think his play will continue,IMO.So he could go right back to the waiver or he could end up being a top center in sandbox, maybe as high as the top 10 or even 5!I think last game he scored a 58.

Smeg, I still don't understand your "rape" comment. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/confused.gif I do want Shaq, but I'm not gonna gut my entire roster for him. What do you think is fair? behad@yahoo.com

My team is playing pretty well, and to trade Shaq if would have to be a deal in my favour and my maths says you get the better in this deal, plus i just don't like it, who knows what will happen the day Penny comes back and this is a long season. Plus Joe Smith is on fire at them moment and a perfect cover for me a PF.

Ren I said he MAY be a bust in a week. im in a position where taking a risk on a player could put me in the better half of the league. i have a solid team, but if i get a scrub that blows up i will be really good. you on the otherhand need guys that you know are better than what you have. as far as nowitzski is concerned i thought it was you. im sorry if i was wrong. but my point is that you should try and get a bunch of 30 point scorers with up side. i know you tried that with the 3 for 3 trade, but all my guys had upside, and you were offering me nothing. look at the game Rip had last night. we all know he can do that every night, and its only a matter of time. Porter just started starting. he has showed us what he used to do in Auburn. he might keep this up for the rest of the year. as far as wright yes he is availaboe, but i want a guy that has some potential

DUDE dont come at me like that when you ask my opinion. you gave up WAY too much for Shack. you didnt tell us the circumstances in your league, and you didnt tell us there were only 8 teams. how the hell am i the voice of no reason.

you asked our opinion. I GAVE IT.

you gave these guys
j/oneal-obvious talent, definate all star potential.

mcdyess-Mr PF of the new milenium. this guy is a stud

walker- another all star. have you noticed the season he is having??
brandon-damn good guard.

finley-one of the best all arounf players in the league.

ewing-well he used to be good.

FOR
shaquille-big boy best center, but why dont you pick up alanzo off the waiver whire at the end of the season if its a keeper league.
wesley-will produce about as well as ewing. this guy wouldnt even make the bench on your old team.
grant-I hope this was brian grant, because horrace is half the man Mcdyce is.

Marc Jackson won't be sitting any time soon. Dampier, the Warriors starting center, is having knee surgery and is out till Feb. Foyle is also injured. Jackson is the main man in the middle for GS. He was an excellent pickup by Ren.

Trash talk only works if you have the team to back it up. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

Nice trade WINK and PIMP,

Still trying to work out who gets the better of it, WINK probably wins in the short term, especially if steve keeps up his close to triple double form, but in the long term if DC gets fit and/or traded then Pimp will probably win, cause when fit and playing DC is 40pt scorer.

How much will this hurt in the short term PIMP, your PF situation is nearly worse than mine.

Maybe I'm crazy here, but the way this thread is going it looks like another 1000+ post thread is in our future, and that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid by giving you your own forum.

Can't you come up with a system -- entitle threads "BF League: (topic)" to know which league you're talking about?

I don't mind 100-200 or beyond post threads if it pertains to a topic, however it looks like anything in your league needs to be posted in this thread, and that is what I was trying to avoid with the new forum...

Thanks http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/smile.gif

How about this guys:

Anytime one of us has something to say to another player, simply start a new thread with that player's name (or team name) in the title. Then anyone can add their comments to that thread. For example:

"Crisco: The kidds are gonna need their mommas!"

Then I can post my trash talk, Crisco can agree with me, others can add "Yes, Behad will crush the kidds". Then the next threads will be similar. Sound good? I'll start a new topic now and get the ball rolling.

Didn't you notice how long the BBS took to process a new post to our "other" monster thread that eventually was closed? From the looks of it, the BBS is churning more the larger the thread there is... I'm wondering if it's doing some kind of verification or check on every post or doing some type of sequential search in which it churns through every post in a thread.

Either way, that last monster was dog-slow and I was happy to see that thing locked up.
