View Full Version : I know it's early, but Janeth Arcain for MVP????

She is unconscious. She has 27 points with 5 minutes to play, and that's her career high - set against the Starzz the other night! Van Chancellor has to breathing a sigh of relief. I didn't think our girls had a shot at repeating again this year with Swoopes out and Coop coaching the Mercury. Never underestimate the heart of a champion - the ONLY champion the WNBA has ever known!

Go Comets!!

Rocket guy,

Man, I hate be the one to bring this up, but you are about to get killed for putting this topic here. Just a friendly warning....

You must remember, there are a few posters, who spend their whole day, policing the site for wrong forum posts...

But, as for your topic, she is doing awesome. Before they repeat, we need to see how they play against some of the better teams. Right now, they are not playing the elite, but Arcain is playing great.

Sorry - is there a special place to post Comets? I follow the Comets on my THIS WEEK'S GAMES page since the Rockets aren't playing. With the Astros playing the way they are, I'm just happy to have some WINNING sports to watch. We should be ecstatic just to have the priviledge to call them ours!

Yes, that's a real sport. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back WNBA Champs!!! We play Cynthia's Merucry next. Big game!

Granted we are playing the lower echelon right now, but taking the Sparks to the wire was awesome. If Arcain keeps up this play, it will be another banner for the Summit rafters!

Anyone ever see that Seinfeld episode when Elaine breaks up with her boyfriend because he likes to use a lot of exclamation marks and she doesn't. They get in a big argument over it and break-up. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, I think this thread is about dead...not to dis the Comets or anything!!!

OK, found the Comets thread. I'm surprised y'all aren't more into them. They ROCK!

I guess it keeps my annual NBA-withdrawal in check being able to watch the Comets.

This is ClutchCity.net. Did I just see "Comets" being referenced with basketball? Did I just see the word "stars" spelled with two z's instead of an "s"? Did I just see the word Van being followed by anything, but Horn and -deweghe? Did I just read the name Janeth Arcain? No, no I didn't. Maybe it was just me slurring my words reading "Olajuwon has arc, man." Yes, that's what it was.

Amazingly the best basketball team in Houston the last 4 or 5 years. But the Rockets will catch them. Wh ydoes everyone bash the WNBA? Like any of us could play everyday there.

I don't trash the WNBA, but I hate hearing about how they are more fundamentally sound....They aren't. They blow way more layups, fumble more passes, etc...

Dod, I guess with that post, I am now part of the problem

Damn!

Doc Robert calling you out on your website props man. Why dont you respond.

ElGrandeQueso also fell flat on his face while attempting some comedy in his post. Yes, you did read all those things. And no, your jokes aren't funny.

The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

I think he would be pretty stupid if he didn't see the "Show Signature" checkbox on the bottom of the post page. Maybe he just wants to type it, who knows? Don't act like a smart-@$$.

The WNBA is not a sport and therefore should not be posted on the Rockets forum, they have their own forum. Just look at the facts, the players are dikes (with a few exceptions), the games are on Lifetime for the love of god, they use an orange and white ball, and their slogan is "We got Next!". Sorry, I just have no respect for the WNBA. I guarantee you Willowridge could give the Comets a run for their money. No WNBA team would come within 50 if they were playing the worst NBA team.

what's a dike? and how does it matter?(and the games on lifetime moved to espn2)

i don't see why you have to compare them to the nba. venus williams couldn't beat the 100th ranked men's player. marion jones would be a laughing stock in the men's field. willowridge would lose by 50 to the worst NBA team too. does that mean you can't enjoy high school or college basketball? it's pointless to compare the 2 leagues.

if you don't enjoy the games then don't watch but how many games have you actually seen in order to form your opinion? some games are very entertaining to watch (not all of them but not all NBA games are entertaining either)

Well I went to see Willowridge's championship game and I am from Ridgemont, a subdivision zoned to Willowridge. I might just have the inside scoop on this. If you don't like it don't watch it, but when you REALLY don't know what you are talking about, then try not to comment on it. Especially with "The WNBA is not a sport" because by definition it is. So is golf or auto racing a sport by your definition? Do men have to play in it for it to be a sport. I don't even know why I am so upset, this post really is in the worng forum to begin with.

I can compare the WNBA to the NBA because NBA is in its title if you havent noticed. High School and College players are not paid professional atheletes, so in that sense your right, you cant compare those to. You can compare the WNBA and the NBA because they are both professional basketball. Its not my fault women cant play. The Comets have won 4 in a row and they only got 9,000 the other night, what does that tell you? After watching the NBA my entire life, I just find the WNBA boring and slow.
