well, it still looked a little lathargic but, for the most part everyone seemed to be getting in the mood for basketball. the point seems to be coming into shape with janeth at the helm and Coquese and Jen getting ample time playing both point and two guard sporadically. the five is still shaky. i think tammy jackson got hurt a little probably playing too much due to the weakness of the center position. she was taken back to the locker room with a few minutes prior to the half, however returned and played in the second half. Chakirova played, but very little. she's got a big body, but atheletic. i haven't seen anything spetacular yet, but i imagine she capable. amaya is seeing increased minutes and making the most of them. man, she's got a nice shot. tiffiny johnson gets better with every game but, is still foul prone.
both teams picked it up in the second half and just like the first, the comets pulled away with the win and a great re-start of the season.

That would have been a great game to watch.

I wonder if they plan to show any of the Comets games on television.

The next televised Comets game is Monday, June 12th at 7pm on ESPN. I think we play Utah.

My computer cooperated and I actually got to listen to last night's game against the Monarchs (at least the 2nd half).

I was very glad to hear that their level of play had been stepped up. I understand that Coop had only a mediocre first half, but she had really picked it up for the 2nd half (maybe she "knew" I was listening *wink*).

I think this was a really important win for the Comets. The Monarchs may not be the power house (they're 1-3 remember) that all of the pre-season psychics proclaimed, but they are a good team with solid talent and I think it can only boost the Comets' confidence to get a win over them. And the last thing the team needs is a self-confidence problem.

I would *still* like to see them work on their spacing and I would like to see them go a little more agressively to the basket. With cutters like Coop, Swoopes, and even Valdemora only good things can happen when we attack the basket.

Oh, well ... just my $0.02 worth.
