Latina Davis, Renee Robinson, Abbie Willenborg, and Dena Head were cut as of may 25 according to WNBA.com. this leaves Andrea Garner and Elen Chirkova as the only remaining draft picks and Jawann Kelly-Gibson the sole free agent remain on staff at present. if its true that Tzekova is not gonna show, that makes room for Lamb on the active roster with Jackson's ability to play two positions both the 4 and the 5 this makes for a very solid front court.

5) Lamb, Chirkova, Jackson

4) Thompson, Garner

3) Swoopes, Valdemoro (Arcain)

2) Cooper, Kelly-Gibson (Arcain)

1) Rizzotti, Washington (Arcain)

i didn't see it anywhere but by her not being on the cut list on WNBA.com, i assume that Kelly-Gibson is on the active list or IL. or maybe Jackson will be on IL so Jawann can get more PT. in the post game interview on krpc radio with jeff hagadorn, he implied that Rizzotti was not having to worry about making the team. i assume this to mean that she is secured a spot and will get more PT this season. i also assume that with Rizzotti and Washington still on the team, i exspect that Janeth Arcain will remain in her sixth man position getting playing time mostly at the point but also at the two and three when nessessary hence her name in parenthesis. so far i like the make up of the team. it looks strong. what do you think?... have i missed something obvious...

Thanks for the update. Looks like a solid team. It also looks like Van Chance decided to provide support at our weakest positions on the court. Smart move going with three at PG and C. My only concern is that Cooper is on the old side, and if she gets hurt, Arcain will start, and our bench gets real thin at SG. I'm not that worried about it. We'd still dominate.

We survived expansion once again and now we can focus on title number 4.

I think Janeth will get the nod at point after week 3 if she doesn't have it already. It's time to rumble.

Tiffani Johnson, a walk-on center, also made the team.

Kelly-Gibson "brings more athleticism" to the team.

Has anyone seen Johnson or Kelly-Gibson play?

I saw Johnson play in the first pre-season game against the Mystiques. She basically carried a very sloppy bench through the second half. Hustled, got loose balls, and had a nice little turn around jumper inside the paint. She was the leading scorer off the bench with like 8 points and impressed by hitting the boards. She held her own against Tausha Mills, but Mills was the better player. She looked to be very active when compared to Monica Lamb. A cut above. She didn't see much time with the starters and the offense was never geared toward getting her the ball when she was in the game, so it was difficult to measure her ability, but she looked good. She belongs on the team from what I've heard and from what I saw.

Saw in the Chronicle this morning that Andrea Garner was traded to Seattle for a 3rd round pick next year.

This leaves the 4 spot a little weaker than anticipated.

Has anyone heard whether or not Chakirova reported to camp finally?
