SLAM magazine slams T. Morris! why in the hell would we want him on the Rockets!!! There are probably 20 better players, that will be available at #23, and unlike Morris they dont have head problems. PLEASE nobody give another BS reason that Morris is tanking the workouts to be with the Rockets. This is a business and if he fails to make the first round, then he gets no guaranteed money, PERIOD.
KEN JOHNSON, is the man at #23
2001 NBA Draft Preview
by Lang Whitaker
With the Chicago draft camp underway, we're about two weeks from knowing where everyone stands -- who's staying and who's going where.
--> None of the high schoolers are in Chicago right now, basically because they didn't want to screw up their current lottery status. But SLAM writer and possible number one selection Eddy Curry is currently working out with MJ's personal trainer, who has said that Eddy's 13% body fat reading is excellent for a man his size.
--> According to our NBA scouting contacts, here's where things stand right now...
ON THE RISE: Jamario Moon (Meridian CC, Miss.) is this year's long shot. He turned heads when he did a vertical jump of 12'4", setting a camp record; Jamison Brewer (Auburn) can do everything but shoot; Omar Cook (St. John's) is playing himself up the first round; Jeryl Sasser (SMU) has had the tools forever, and he's finally putting it all together.
ON THE SCHNIDE: Eric Chenowith (Kansas) has played himself out of the draft altogether; Gerald Wallace (Alabama) keeps throwing up bricks; Jason Gardner (Arizona) is stinking up the joint and saying he's still not returning to school; Terence Morris (Maryland) was a lottery-projected pick last year. He stayed and played and now isn't likely to even get drafted. Hasn't helped that he didn't show at Chicago; Ousmane Cisse (HS) is falling like a rock. Too bad he can't go to college now;
