View Full Version : Bynum to have MRI out indefinitely

what is up with big men lately.. they are just so fragile.

Arguably 3 of the top centers in the league are out with serious injuries and have had a history of injuries. Bynum was averaging 20, 10, 2 on the 4 game winning stream.
Worst think is there was no collision it was like Oden and Yao.

Look like Dwight is the only one holding up

Seems like Bynum goes down every year with something. If this is bad, he'll be worthless in the playoffs.

Dude can't even stay reasonably healthy for a full season. He's more injury prone than yao.

Doesn't help Lakers hopes of getting a S&T FA with him as a centerpiece. So I'm okay with it.

Wellp... might as well hand over the trophy to the Cavs now... especially if Shaq comes back healthy enough.

Not so fast. There is a team called the Orlando Magic that will at least challenge the Cavs.

yea people are really not respecting orlando... i think they still see them as the team that was struggling in january. they are getting better and better, building chemistry, and getting healthy. (jameer, VC)

MRI confirms strained Achilles tendon, no tear for Lakers' Bynum:

Well sure they will... I just feel as the Cavs have the edge this year. Last year, they had weaknesses, I believe they have filled those weaknesses this year. I mean anything can happen, I just see this years Cavs team making it to the finals if they play the Magic in the ECF again.

Odom is banged up too, yeah some team like the Blazers could give them fits in the 1st round.

THIS. Remember, Portland beats LA pretty often. Even in LA.

Chuck hayes was able to shut down bynum.

I don't think bynum is the difference between a championship or not.

This is huge... Averaging 15 pts and 8 rebounds... Not like they are short on 7-footers anyways...

yea i saw the update. but again it seems like for 4 years running he has been out with some sort of leg/knee injury.. centers really just dont hold up like they use to.

Yao, Bynum, Oden when healthy are a few of the best centers in the league. Well ODen hasnt quite proved anything yet but he was putting up decent numbers when healthy. I think it's the type of injuries with no contact that really make these players seem fragile.

well lakers have won without him but if he is out for any amt of time or is less effective when he comes back the Mavs certainly benefit. I really don't care who wins as long as it's not the mavs or jazz.

Ok, so is it serious since it isn't torn, or will he be back for the playoffs?

RocketMania1991

From what i've read this isn't serious.

The Lakers are in no rush....

Let Bynum rest, they are head and shoulders above any other team in my opinion.

The title is theirs to lose.

If they can stay healthy I don't see any team competing with them.

don't know about that. they are both pretty bad off on getting hurt. it doesn't help that Yao is our best player neither.

This lakers are so stacked in talents. Bynum is like their fourth best players behind kobe, gasol and odom. With or without Bynum, it really doesn't matters much. In fact, if the lakers didn't win the title this year, they will be the most talent team which fail to win it all in the league history!

Keep dreaming... the Lakers can just as easily steal a game in Portland as Portland can in LA.... but it's not going to happen... the Lakers aren't THAT bad.

They aren't even the most talented Lakers team if they dont win the title this year.

The 2003-2004 Lakers were one of the most talented teams not to win the title. They had Fisher, Payton, Kobe, Fox, Malone, and Shaq.

Also the Phoenix Suns of the 90's and 2000's under the Barkely era and Nash-Amare-Marion-Johnson era were a Horry away from winning the title, imo.

The Rockets under Drexler-Hakeem-Barkely were also pretty talented and should have won the title if it weren't for freakin Stockton's lucky ass three!

Weren't teams drooooooling over Bynum at one point? Guess the whole getting Gasol for salt doesn't look so bad now, even though they will still probably win another championship this year. Still, bad karma for them.

Portland has lost 8 of 9 there, last win was in the pre-Gasol days.

They can't win a title w/o Bynum.

Bynum averaged about 6 and 4 in the playoffs last year, and seemingly 4 fouls. I dare say he wasn't a difference maker.
