I doubt it's over $10 mil. His age works against him

I'm calling $8 million

Now that Landry is gone Scola is definitely taking advantage of the increase in playing time. He will definitely get a nice pay raise but I wonder how much people are willing to pay with the upcoming CBA, that will put a limit on some teams.

7-9 mil is a minimum I would think. Then again, with the NBA you just never know who will overpay.

Before he went into beast mode, it would have been MLE-$8M. Now he'll get around $8-10M.

hey abc2007, can you tell me what does a MLE mean?

Mid-Level Exception

A team is allowed to sign one player to a contract equal to the average NBA salary, even if the team is over the salary cap already, or if the signing would put them over the cap. This is known as the Mid-level exception (MLE). The MLE may be used on an individual free agent or split among multiple free agents, and is available to any team that exceeds the salary cap at the beginning of the offseason. The Mid-Level Exception for the 2008-09 NBA season was $5.585 million. The MLE is $5.854 million for the 2009-10 NBA regular season.

Should be over 8mils, that's price both Socla and Rocket can accept.

However, since Landry is gone, i can't help to think Socla's value is going higher.

Whatever hapens, Scola is gonna to be one of huge steals of histroy. I mean this guy almost never got hurt.

8 millions sounds more feasible to me and his age really is a big factor that affects his next contract value. Whatever happens, there's one thing I hate to see is his tenure with the Rockets fizzles out at last.

Should we say 'in morey we trust'? ;)

MLE to 8 Million seems fair to me, 8-10 million is a little expensive for a player about to turn 30 years old.

MLE to 8.

If ariza is making 6mil scola deserves at least 7 or 8 mil. Like I said earlier trading landry jacked up scola's value.

b4 he went on this insane stretch lately i wouldve voted MLE-8mil

but now that hes blowing up the stat sheet, i believe its driving his price tag more and more

if nothin else this raises his stock alot more for other teams if we decided to move him for a big man (Bosh) this offseason

Scola is always in beast mode. Scola does not do contract years.

Contract year buzz........

Our only saving grace is that he's a little older and restricted, which will make teams hesitant to sign him to an offer sheet. I'm guessing 7-9 million.

he'll command more than the MLE for sure. i think somewhere around $8-10 mil is appropriate for scola. the only thing going against him is his age. i hope we can resign him, unless we can get bosh.

I think Scola's new contract will depend on whether the rockets can make the playoffs.

If the rockets can make the playoffs under Scola's leading, I think he will at least get 8-10 million, 10+ million is also possible.

However, if the rockets cannot make the playoffs, Good stats in a lottery team wouldn't mean a lot. At most he would get MLE-8 million. I think the MLE is the most possible conract.

I don't think it matters what his contract is because he is probably getting traded. Morey already said there will be changes. They have Hill as a backup now. Rockets will make a run for Bosh this offseason. No doubt in my mind at all.
