i think the play for designed for Frye and he was sup to be behind the 3pt line.
great game though. Spurs are always nice to watch. atleast for me
What the hell was Nash thinking?
Frye was the one that pulled the head-scratcher.
Down by 3 and you move inside the 3 point line?
Nash drew that play up, and by design, Frye was supposed to get a pass and shoot a 3.
But the retard kept moving and moved to the elbow.

well that makes more sense now. I guess Nash was just using his peripherals and didn't see the line.

If that was Kobe or LeBron, they would've took that shot without a second thought.

Because he realized there wasn't near enough time for Nash to pass him the ball and he get a shot up. Nash was the retard. Why the hell would you still pass off to a guy when you know he's inside the arc and has no time to shoot?

Did you see the 3 pointer he made just before that play ?
yes I did but he got a good look because of Amare's screen plus he wasn't trying to race up the court trying to beat the clock and he was closer to the line. Pretty much a completely different scenario. Instead of Nash dribbling up the court as fast as he can covered by 2 Spurs players keeping an eye on the clock a few feet behind the 3 pt line. It looked like Duncan was on him..

The game didn't come down to that call though. Billups had a couple of very questionable plays at the end. The foul on the Billups 3pt by Fisher was questionable.
Despite the loss, Denver seems to have the Laker's numbers this year. We will see how the post season comes along.

Denver really screwed up in the end. JR Smith made some boneheaded plays and Melo kinda dissappeared in thr 4th quarter. When its all said and done, I really think Denver will be the West Champs. Look at the starting five comparisons:
Billups>Fisher
Afflalo<Kobe
Melo>Artest
Martin<Gasol
Nene>Bynum
The ultimate X-Factor is gonna be Ty Lawson, cuz I don't see anyone on that Lakers bench that can guard him. Farmar and Brown really struggle against him and if he didn't go out in the 2nd half, they woulda won that game.

Are you blind? He had more than enough room to get that shot off. And overall, it's better to get some kind of shot up than pass it off with the buzzer going off and get no shot at all. That was retarded.

Tell me you're joking. What the hell kind of logic is this? Denver is better than LA if you take Kobe and Gasol out of the lineup? No sh-t! The only thing that could have made that moronic theory even worse is if you posted it twice. oh wait...

02-28-2010, 06:01 PM
what does carmelo do for the nuggets when he does NOT score?
and nene needs to get more shots. A LOT MORE.
and it's clear the lakers can get to the finals even if kobe puts up a couple of C-D games every series. they're just that deep and good.

I actually think as a unit the Lakers have a better starting 5 than the Nuggets (not by much, though), but . . . the Nuggets have much superior bench with (Andersen, Smith, Lawson and Carter) . . . it's like they can throw another set of starters at the Lakers. Especially having Lawson, who can be a nightmare for the Lakers' point guard.
You also have to like the Nuggets mentality of attacking/being aggressive . . . Hard to say if they'll win the West, they could lose to the Mavs or any strong WC team that comes out in a blaze in the playoffs.

Anyhow, for those complaining how the Rockets run iso plays late in games, are you watching this Bucks-Hawks game?
Almost every single play out of the last 8 possessions between the two teams has involved Joe Johnson or John Salmons going 1-on-1 starting out on the perimeter. Ridnour scored one bucket in between.
I understand that the complaints about the Rockets doing that are that Brooks wasn't good enough and that is correct.
The point is though that almost every last team in the league spreads the floor and isos late in halves, particularly at the end of games for the team in the lead. They want to use up clock and avoid turnovers so they spread the floor and drain clock. If a double comes, it's up to the ballhandler to find the open man. Every team does this, it's not just the Rockets. Obviously, it's more effective when you have a star perimeter player. That's why we got Martin. Expect to see him iso quite a bit late in halves/games as we move forward instead of Brooks. And don't flame him for it when he doesn't finish. All teams go this route on critical late possessions when defenses kick it up a notch and the clock is a factor.
The ball movement, player movement, running the offense, etc... is more typical and should be expected more often in all other game situations.

It's not just little AB or the Rockets that he has good games against.

Jennings is a good player but man, his FG% is going down the tubes. He's entered sub-Rafer territory.
He's so young though. I can't blame Skiles for going with Ridnour. I even suggested that might start happening a few weeks ago but I was thinking Skiles might even let Ridnour start with Jennings apparently hitting the rookie wall. Ridnour finishing games may be a sign of things to come. Maybe not. They are in the playoff mix so Skiles will probably do what he thinks gives the team the best chance to win games.
It'll be interesting to see how Jennings reacts if he does get demoted to back up duties down the stretch. He doesn't strike me as the type that will handle it well but who knows...

He's still a good passer but yeah his shooting has been horrible for a long time now. It has went past the rookie wall. Hopefully he improves his jumper in the off-season, if he can he will be a very good PG. With him being so small he also struggles to finish around the basket.

Afflalo was a steal for the Nuggets. He's been playing well all season for them. He provides tangible and intangible production. He plays good, solid D against guys like Kobe (not just today, but the two previous times he played against Bryant as well) on a regular basis. Great pickup by Denver.

I'd also like to add that I didn't need any elaborate math equations to see any of this.
