Oregon's star RB arrested on strangulation, assault charges
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP)
Oregon running back LaMichael James has been arrested by Springfield police.
The 20-year-old tailback was taken into custody Wednesday and lodged at the Lane County Jail on misdemeanor charges of menacing, strangulation and assault.
Springfield police said they were not ready to discuss details of the incident.
James replaced the suspended LeGarrette Blount after the season opener and set the Pac-10's freshman rushing mark this past season with 1,546 yards.

Strangulation doesn't sound like a real term, shouldn't it just fall under assault? Or maybe even chocking.

This guy went to my HS and is the cousin of my best friend's wife. I'll have to call and see if she knows anything about it. He was a good kid in HS from what I know.

This is hilarious.
Oregon will suspended the guy for the season then late in Pac 10 play when the conference is on the line, will reinstatement him.

What the heck is going on with the Ducks? Now Masoli is being charged with theft.

Oregon's Masoli to face burglary count
EUGENE, Ore. (AP)
Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who helped lead the Ducks to the Pac-10 Conference title and a Rose Bowl berth last season, faces a burglary charge in connection with a theft at a campus fraternity house in late January.
The Lane Country district attorney's office says Masoli and former Oregon receiver Garrett Embry were each charged Wednesday with one count of burglary in the second degree.
Masoli and Embry were scheduled to be arraigned in Lane County Circuit Court on Friday afternoon.
The district attorney's office did not respond to a phone call seeking further comment on the case. A spokesman for the Ducks said the team had no comment.
A fraternity member reported that Masoli and Embry stole two computers and a guitar from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house on Jan. 25.
Police were tightlipped about the alleged theft, claiming it was under investigation.
The Ducks announced in early February that Embry had been dismissed from the team a month before for violating team rules unrelated to the alleged theft.
Masoli, who came to the Ducks as a junior college transfer out of Daly City, Calif., threw for 2,147 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. He also rushed for 668 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Oregon made a remarkable comeback from a season-opening loss to Boise State to win its first Pac-10 title since 2001 and earn its first trip to the Rose Bowl since 1995. Oregon came up short in Pasadena, losing 26-17 to Ohio State.
Embry appeared in 11 games last season, mostly on special teams.

Haha....nah, no way he could ever accomplish that dubious feat. Speaking of which, congrats on the Antonio Bryant signing. Even though I've always been a fan of him, he should fit in quite nicely with his history of being a hothead/troublemaker. :p

I'm here. Mega bust Akili Smith. Major disappointment Joey (Harrington). Onterrio Smith caught in an airport with a WHITE whizzinator. Blount with the infamous punch. Masoli getting charged for stealing from my old frat house. LMJ charged for choking.....
Nothing new here. I could care less about Masoli. Never really was a fan of him to begin with. Besides we got HOUSTON, TEXAS' own Darron Thomas ready to take over the reigns.
From all the stuff I read and heard I thought LMJ was a good kid and he probably is. I think the kid is special and will make it big time in the NFL. The Ducks know this and they will probably give him a slap on the wrist and let him play. We've got a National Championship to win.
