"Rafer Alston is a top 10-15 starting point guard and the most irreplaceable Rocket there is!" ... that is, unless you can swap him for the third string point of one of the worst teams in the league.

Nice move, Daryl Morey.

Lowry is a Momentum-Maker.

Yep, that was crazy and entertaining 3rd quarter.

And the announcers for the Warriors were more pumped up than Bill and Matt after witnessing a great block from the little guy on this Rockets team, their voices seemed so calm when seeing that. :o

Clutch should be thanking those fans who supported Rafer. I'm sure Morey showed Orlando's GM how many fans supported Rafer on Clutch Fans despite Alston's terrible FG percentage.

It would be interesting to hear the inner workings of Memphis' player evaluation process.

You'd probably here stuff like...

"I don't see any reason to hesitate. This guy is a former all-star for crying out loud!"

"How many championships have we won with Pau? Let's do the deal. He won't put them over the top. Our fans will thank us down the line."

"What are intangibles?"

Didn't Lowry have a 4 block game earlier in the season? The guy is good, and fits with the spirit of the rest of this team.

I was at tonight's game and that Lowry block silenced the entire oracle arena. Great win for Houston.

i like how he keeps going no matter what...he would have had that rebound if Battier didn't tip it and then just kept on running to get back on D, then after the block watson didn't let him get back on the court, he held him back, lowry just went over him and ran back for the layup...

Seriously, we need a block compilation video for that game. Lowry's block was one of many sick ones.

Landry's straight up denial of Monta Ellis's dunk and Shane's rejection of Maggette's dunk spring to mind. I bet one of you talented guys could make a pretty nice video with 13 blocks to choose from! ;)

Brooks and Lowry were like Velociraptors. Brooks held Watson's attention while Lowry came in from the side and ate his lunch. Then icing on the cake with the layup at the other end for Lowry...

Reminds me of Dream's block of KJ's, only that Lowry is about 10 inches shorter.

Lowry is one of the best backup PGs in the league and probably good enough to start. We aren't going to be able to afford to keep him. It will be interesting to see what happens. So far we know Morey is good at assembling quality players on the cheap, but we don't know what happens to them once they reach their potential and it's time to pay them. Retain them and you have a team full of appropriately paid role-players. Let them walk and you're back where you started, not contending and just looking around to develop cheap talent.
