True or not, it sure is interesting. According to the article, Yao's IQ is 132. The Rockets' aveage IQ is 98.

The article is in Chinese. If someone can translate it into English, that will be great. Or maybe someone can try to find the original info in English.

Chinese media claiming their Chinese player is the smartest? Surely, it must be fact!

How do they even know the IQ of all the Rockets players? I've never heard that kind of information being available about any athletes. In order to calculate the average IQ, they would need the accurate IQ of every single player on the team. Not everybody gets IQ tests in the first place. Sounds like a bogus article.

They would also need the IQ scores of every player in the NBA to determine that Yao has the highest IQ. What kind of news source is Sina? Is it more of a tabloid?

Didn't know the NBA gave IQ tests at the combine. You have to be a little skeptical about how they accumulated the data to proclaim Yao the smartest guy in the NBA.

Does the iq test have a question about what you do when you are up by 9 with a few minutes left in a game and Chauncey Billups is dribbling the ball up the court near mid court?

Funny, Clutch has one of those "Find out what your IQ is" companies in the banner ad in this thread.

I bet the writer of the article pulled those IQ stats not out of his ass, but out of those “TEST YOUR IQ" ads online. lol. :D

Well, there is little doubt that Yao is a smart man.

But highest IQ score in the NBA?

By believing that this is the case and asking the question, the OP almost deserves the title of Most IQ in a thread.

Most IQ as in Most Idiotic Question.

Sina is one of the biggest website in China.

The article said Yao's IQ is 132 which even higher than Brack Obama's 130!

Here are some other players' IQ mentioned in that article.

    Shaq: 131

    Kobe: 128

    Lebron: 126

    KG: 126

It said that they got these numbers from a website named IQ TEST in USA. The website evaluated all the NBA players' IQ and came out that result.
    Sounds interesting.. ;)

Wow, these are some lofty numbers. An IQ of 126 puts them in, I believe, less than 1% of the population, and an IQ of 130 is close to a genius.
Obviously failed for a fabricated story.

With Sina, you have to wonder if the article started like this:

    Random ESPN article

    Sponsored links:

    Some Chinese reporter:"Woah."

    [1 4 9 16 25] or [0 3 8 15 24] ?
