Well that's it. I give up! I supported Clinton for years, but this is the final straw! No more Clinton supporting for me. That SCUM!

I think I heard about this. He was actually trying to be nice to President Bush and help him out.

Clinton felt that the Oval office looked pretty bare when he removed the teak desk, made from the paneling in the Captain's cabin of the Merrimack, and hand crafted by Frank Lloyd Wright as a gift for President Truman, for his office in New York.

Clinton felt it only polite to put a desk in the Oval Office to replace it. He used his own money, from his office furnishing fund.

I suppose next you are going to have a problem with the $500 bedroom suite he bought from Gallery Furniture to put in the Lincoln Bedroom, aren't you? http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/wink.gif

I don't know if this (http://www.theonion.com) has been discussed before...

WASHINGTON, DC-- According to a report in Monday's Washington Post, on Jan. 14, Bill Clinton accepted a $60 rebate on an O'Sullivan office workcenter while in Office Depot. "In his final days as president, Mr. Clinton knowingly took money as an enticement to purchase a $300 desk, leveraging his status as a valued customer of Office Depot for personal gain," the report stated. "The sales associate who orchestrated the deal, Marc Ryback, has a history of dealings with the president dating back to a November 1995 photocopier-for-cash exchange." Said a spokesman for the former president: "Mr. Clinton regrets any wrongdoing that may have occurred."

I am certainly not a Clinton supporter, but if I could have received the same rebate, then I see no problem with this (as long as it was his own money that he bought the workcenter with and not taxpayer expense).
