As a UH student and fan, I have to say...
HELL YEAH! Eat it, NORTH TEXAS!

More than a UH student, I'm a former North Texas student.

Am I the only one that has never heard of a team from North Texas before in my life?

I take it you've never seen necessary roughness?

Have to mention:

Chase Clement and Jarett Dillard setting the all-time NCAA record for a qb-wr combo (41 and counting)

plus, having my picture on ESPN high-fiving Jarett after the game was pretty sweet too.

Interesting to note that the first team Texas State played in that movie was Southwest Texas State (which later changed it's name to Texas State).

UNT at one point wanted to change their name to Texas State but the name change to UNT from North Texas State was still fresh and a bitch to get done so they kind of said screw it.

and that a lot of it (if not all of it) was filmed in san marcos at the campus of SWT/TX State

Most of it was filmed at UNT/Dallas/FW which is why the movie got brought up in the first place. One of my old band teachers was an undergrad at UNT when they filmed it and was cast as an extra.

nice to see ncaa history made, and dillard catch his 50th td.

and storm surge, how old are you? UNT has the second largest student body in texas. wiki says it's the third, but i've heard it's second.

According to last year's official numbers, UNT was 4th.

1)UT - 50K (5th nationally)
2)TAMU - 46.5K (7th nationally)
3)UH - 36.5K
4)UNT - 36K

Lol, I don't think anyone half-decent has ever come out of UNT since. Joe Greene was 150 years ago :)

That was just unreal the amount of points put up...The head coach at UNT was the former Southlake Carrol HS coach that won all those state championships...He's been stinking it up...not sure how much longer he stays...

coach dodge was the varsity coach at newman smith my freshman.

he sure looked like a better coach when he had all those former nfl player's children playing for him and the dragons.
