I think you mean Fred Taylor.

Jones Drew will have a field day against us like always. Slaton will rush for over a 100 again. Our offense will have to click on all cylinders to win this game. I think this will be a high scoring game, and we win by a Kris Brown FG.

31-28.

I honestly hope he does have a good game, the fact of the matter is, if he doesn't we will see sage. Kubiac will not squander the season, because of schaubs inability to find success

IMO:

-We are solid plugging up the middle but have got to get better at containing the flats: our corners and OLBs have been pathetic in this regard, and MoJo ate us alive on bounce outs and stretch plays last year. Teams in general seem to have learned how soft we are there. Ryans has to make far too many plays at the sidelines.

-Each team should know that the opposing QB is vulnerable to getting shaken if stirred. Both sides need to protect theirs and pressure the others. We need to win that battle - Schaub is a great pocket passer when he's relaxed and horrendous when anxiety creeps in after a couple of hits. Garrard can be pressured into stupid throws.

-Our D-line needs to be whipped into a frenzy to attack their injury-depleted O-Line. NO EXCUSES for us not to terrorize them. If we don't, it's because we tried to take the game lightly.

-Watch out for Mathis.

-Fake a 4th down conversion either to draw the D offsides or to pooch kick. Kubiak has attempted more 4th down conversions than almost anyone in our first 2 games, so they should be expecting the same. Catch them off guard.

24 points and we get our first W. We lose if we're getting nothing but FGs.

The Jags don't have an O-line. It's time for all of our #1 picks on the D-line to dominate the line of scrimmage.

Texans 43
Jaguars 10

Btw, Dick Enberg and Randy Cross will call the game for CBS.

I was watching some "highlights" of the tits game last night. In his defense, AJ dropped two SURE TD's on two separate drives. Both of them would have really helped Shaub's stats, along with the outcome of the game.

Thankgod, I no longer have to click in the Titans thread. We normally play really well against the Jags. Really sucks we haven't had a home game yet, Stupid Ike.

Slayton will run for 100+ again, and Schaub will finally throw the ball down the field, and AJ will be able to hold onto the the ball.

This will be a gut-check performance for the Texans. Schaub especially should be feeling the heat. Based on Kubiak's comments after the last game I wouldn't be surprised if he gives Sage a shot should Schaub continue to struggle in the first half of this one. Kub knows how bad they need a win.

I don't know why, but I'm thinking we'll win this one. Last year in Jacksonville, we almost took a double digit lead before Andre Davis fumbled at the goal line...from there they came unraveled. If they can avoid crumbling after one mistake they can make a game out of this. Especially if the defense plays like they did in the second half last week.

Hopefully I can post in here without derailing the thread.....from what I have seen in years past, the Texans always play the jaguars well and if the texans want to salvage any hopes for this season, they have to win this week.

Steve Slaton looked good against the Titans last week, will be interesting to see if he can duplicate it against the jaguars. The Jags offensive line is missing 2 or 3 starters so if the Texans defense can get to Garrard they can control the game. I think it will be an ugly defensive battle, and the game ends on a game winning fg, not sure which team though.

From what I hear, the jaguars/texans hate each other a lot (jaguars are the dirtiest team according to one player ive talked to), and I wouldnt be surprised if there is a scuffle or two.

I'm beginning to think Kubiak doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach. I can't get a feel from the team that he's imposing his persona on the team. Schaub and Kubiak are on the hot seat with every mounting loss. Rick Smith is tied to Kubiak so he's on the hot seat too, especially if our talent level is severely lacking compared to other teams.

I'm predicting a loss cause the Jags have a punishing run game and...they're just a better football team.

What's gonna be even more frustrating is that he'll waste a timeout when the team is on offense because he doesn't get the play to Schaub in time, or he tells him to call one to "think it over".

Indeed they are... playing their asses off like they did last week against Tennessee throughout the second half.

But they have NOTHING to show for it thanks to Kubiak... both weeks (the disasterous "going for it" on 4th downs, and now the inexplicable non-timeout).

I didn't say that... I just said its difficult to evaluate a QB when you say he "needs to look better when he has little to no time to pass."

And, fwiw, the first two weeks... he did have times where he had good protection... and he still didn't look great. This week, much more poise in the pocket.

I essentially agree. Things aren't always going to be peachy in the backfield though, and when it's not the qb is still accountable for what he does with the ball.

Was that a coach's challenge?

You can't downplay how big a mistake that was... no matter how the team looked.

All that matters is the final score... and if the Texans lose by a TD or less, that play will be magnified even more.

And yes... coaches can lose their jobs over decisions like that... you can't make that sort of mistake in this league.

When's the last time a team waived half a team that was terrible? Like it or not, it's much easier to replace a coach than multiple players.

I'm not calling for Kubiak's head (earlier was just frustration), but we have every right as fans to chide him for that terrble decision and after last week, his decision-making certainly is turning very questionable.

Regardless, using your logic, we can't complain about any bad play or decision because we'd just be whiny.
