Big game today for the Houston team. No tv, though. Here's hoping for another upset! CO GOOGS!

I don't expect that the Cowboys are 15.5 points better than the Coogs.

Still I am concerned about our running game. And our defense getting exhausted at the end if we get into a track meet with them..since we don't on paper have the depth.

the Red Rage Game at Robertson 2 years ago is one of my fondest memories in college- lots of opposing fans, sellout, enthusiasm, spirit, the majority of the stadium was red. Then it started raining in the 4th quarter to cool us off, and we won the game. :D

Hey, this is your guys' chance to see our unstoppable offense in action (ranked in the top 5 in total offense last year) .

Enjoy Zac Robinson!! and Dez Bryant!! (you'll see a LOT of lobs to him) and Brandon Pettigrew (#1 rated TE prospect in the nation)!!! and Kendall Hunter!!

Btw, I believe your head coach is from Oklahoma.

I think they scrapped that slogan. Its now the "Cougar Nation".

And yes, Kevin Sumlin is our coach, from Oklahoma.

We really need to get our act together and force some more turnovers.

The UH D (especially the rushing D) sucks donkey balls. Okie St. almost has 500 yards of offense already and it's midway through the 3rd quarter. :(

We have better talent at the skill positions, no offense. Just look at the stats buddy.

We play in the Big-12 South. You play in Conference USA. No comparisons.

Was that supposed to be an honest question, or a sarcastic one?

I'll just say this:

OU, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech, etc.

Yours???

I'm trying to actually talk about the game, not run smack.

I'll say this.

What was your conference like in 2006?

(in other words, why is it people always just point to conference strength when they win, but when they lose, they shut their yaps about it?)

No.....but I'm talking about right now anyways. Plus, I have no excuses for that, although that was a down year for us and back when Reid (yuck) was our QB.

It's a down year for us too...Anthony Alridge, Donnie Avery and Jeron Harvey are gone, plus a transition year with a first year head coach

The Cougars will be good in the future (as long as Kevin Sumlin is there)

Sumlin will win in Houston. He knows how to recruit in Texas and trust me, he's so much better than Art Briles. He actually practices special teams, where Briles didn't.

You had them last year and you guys were 7-6.

We could have and should have been 9-4.

We were up 21 points on Texas w/ a quarter to go. We were up on Texas A&M until the very last few minutes, if it weren't for a questionable decision by our coach.

We also played on the #3 rated schedule in the nation. Thats a fact.

So if it weren't for a horrible defense and an unfavorable schedule, we would've gone on to a January bowl. Thats a fact.

But that's like us saying if Art Briles didn't bail weeks before the Texas Bowl, UH would of won its first bowl game in nearly two decades

It is what it is...but I'm so glad Briles left, for the long run

Hey, I know its an "could'a would'a should'a," but still, I'm saying that our 7-6 record last year didn't match up with our talent level (on offense), and our defense is our only weak link. If we can add some more talent to our secondary and front four, we would DOMINATE.

GG guys and best of wishes to your team and head coach (who I just learned recently is originally from Oklahoma).

You guys are sure to finish in the top 3 in Conference USA (not mocking you by any means). But watch out for Tulsa (*cough* *cough* where I'm going to school right now *cough*) because they also have a high-octaned offense.

GO COOGS!!

They didn't go for 2. Juist snapped the ball over the holder and Bell fell on it. Happened like twice. Coogs have a special teams coach now so I'm sure the bad snaps and punt return for TD will be talked about this week.

I think OSU fans should be humble. They're not as good as they think. They'll finish ahead of Baylor and A&M in the South.

I think UH fans should be worried. The # 1 ranked defense last year in C-USA and returning 8 starters got absolutely shredded and disappeared in the 2nd half. While they won't face a team with better individual talent than OSU, they will face better teams...including East Carolina in a few weeks.

UofH had the #1 ranked defense in Conf USA last year? If that's the case, why does Briles catch so much grief for not caring about defense? Did his team achieve that ranking by default, or was his defense in fact not the league's top ranked unit?

...oh trust me when I say we were humbled last year by our defense.........we know we can't be a contender in the Big 12 South until our defense improves.

That is a good question and one I cannot answer. UH had the # 1 total defense in C-USA last year...that is a fact. I don't know where that put UH nationally.

http://conferenceusa.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2007-2008/confldrs.html

I think anything short of competing for the conference title would be a disappointment. The cupboard is not bare.

UH's defense SUCKED last year. Our DBs blew HARD and we barely got any sort of pressure on the QB, outside of Hunt.
