New Rules for Troublesome Fans?

So... will the NBA take the "Buffet" or "Iverson" incidents to the next level?

What exactly do have to do or say to get kicked out of an NBA game?

Will the NBA issue some sort of "Fan Ejection Rules" or new rules for those fans that are in ear shot of a ref??

These two situations have me thinking that the NBA will set precedent with some new guidelines or rules for "How to Attend and Speak at an NBA Game?!"

My question is what's next? Monitors, like Hall Monitors, in the stands, with special electronic hearing devices that will help them to eject ANY fan that makes disparaging (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=disparaging) comments toward players and refs? I mean what's next? Is Big Brother going to be listening and watching??

I don't think players or refs should be subjected to abuse while they're working. If you work at a supermarket, and someone comes in and is yelling profanity at you, they can be forced to leave. It should be the same way in the nba. There is no way you can fine players for yelling things at fans that can get away with saying anything.

While I agree that some fans get completely out of hand, this is something that has been a part of every sport for years. Baseball umps are constantly being belittled by the fans. Football refs are too, but are distanced more than any other sport. Hell, soccer refs are literally threatened by the rabid fans!! The problem with refs seems to lie more in the NBA than in any other professional sport. They are making a themselves more noticed each and every year.

While I agree that coaches and players have a distinct line they can not cross with out being punished(ie. techs, suspensions, fines), fans should not be subject to the same standards. True, there is a line for fans, but that is more of a moral and respectful line. Fans should not have to worry about being tossed out of the stadium because the ref is having a bad day and can't handle being called a few harmless name. If the fan badgering rises to the level of derragatory comments or threats, then I can see where alternative methods should be utilized, but in any other case the ref needs to understand his place and not stay out of the spotlight.

All because you pay $100 for a ticket, it doesn't mean that you can physically or verbaly abuse the players, coaches, or refs.
