I just need some help in regards to Houston radio stations that cover the Rockets so that I can add their RSS/Podcasts/etc to my phone and listen to them in between class or travel.

What are the better stations or programs in regards to Houston Rockets news, rumors, coverage, player interviews, etc?

As always, your help is much appreciated by us non-Houston fans as we try to get as much coverage as we can about our beloved Rockets! :D

610AM to listen to the games and occasional news

And I think its 95.7 or 97.5 to listen to Calvin Murphy around 4 or 5pm. Don't know if his show is still on though.

he is on the radio because he is the adminstrator of the biggest web forum for the houston rockets. that's why... and its not like hes stupid, he provides helpful insights and knows what he is talking about.

It's ESPN 97.5 FM "The Ticket" and yes Calvin's show is still on - in fact he just celebrated his 1 year anniversary with the station last night. I work with Calvin at the station, I am a producer / board operator for 97.5 FM.

Matt Jackson, who's on in the afternoon on AM610, is the best. After him, I've got to give Adam Clanton the 2nd spot for now. He's on AM610 from 10:00 to 11:00 in the morning. Charlie Pallilo is probably still the best all-around sportstalk guy in town. He's on from 3:30-7:00 pm on AM790. The only other guy worth mentioning is Adam Wexler, who does evenings on AM610.

I don't get to listen to Mattj anymore because of his shift and I miss his Rockets talk. Adam Clanton snuck up on me (when he recently replaced the awful Jeremy Foster). These two guys obviously watch A LOT of NBA basketball and both have a passion for it.

Most of the time you don't need to listen to the stations to get access to the Rockets-related interviews. Morey does interviews most frequently with 610 and you can get those podcasts on the left-hand bar of www.sportsradio610.com. Occasionally they will also get interviews with people like Matt Bullard and Jeff van Gundy or even Rockets players themselves sometimes; they seem to be the most consistent at getting the rarer interviews just because they've been around the longest.

Morey will also do frequent interviews with 1560 but they are less reliable about getting their podcasts up. That website's www.1560thegame.com. 1560 also has the occasional Thursday morning and Sunday morning interview with Clutch, they generally happen every week during the season and less often in the offseason. The Thursday ones are borderline-useless because John Granato could not care less about sports, much less the Rockets. Lance makes a half-hearted attempt but it's still a huge distraction when they're trying to do interviews. Sunday mornings with Nuno and the other guy I dunno who are great, Clutch gets a lot more time to make points.

790 is a third station that doesn't have much of anything good except the afternoon Charlie Palillo show (www.790kbme.com), and I'm not sure about how often they get podcasts of interviews. I know CP does mostly calls though. And ESPN's 97.5 channel plays mostly national sports radio. I don't listen to any of the talk shows after 5pm, but if you know of good interviews on Calvin Murphy's show feel free to post a link on this site and I'll give them a listen.
