Look im not saying were gonna win a championship this year(my dream)but
we can kind of relate to them that season. Here are some similareties.
*we're 11-11!! this time two years ago they were 11-10
*We have:new coach/system....that was the year pat riley took over as coach
*We have added a couple of new pieces mj,sf,scola, bonzi is like a new addition since he didnt really do much last season! they added j-will,antoine,posey,gary payton
*two allstars::rolleyes: tmac/yao wade/oneal
*former allstars:We have Stevie..... They had 'Toine aka the shimmy
* ancient allstars:We have Deke They have Alonzo
*Supporting cast:Rockets have battier, bonzi,mj,chuck,Scola,we get some head once in a while :D
They had:J-Will,james posey,antoine,gary payton,and udonis haslem
*Also both of these teams had high expectations coming in to the new season because of the moves made in the off season. And everyone freaks out because of th record and the way theyre playing!!!
Well my point is that the heat is a perfect example of a team struggling to mesh and adapt to new coaches and teammates..But if were playing like this by the end of this year then were in some deep *****!!!!

that's BS.
I thought we were like them last year because
they finished 52-30 and had D-wade on the cover of NBA LIVE 06
and we finished 52-30 and had TMAC on the cover of NBA LIVE 07
but nope, we lost in the first round.

since the rockets are in the west lets say.. the warriors or something?

Except Miami had a BAD MAN playing center and an aggressive driver to the basket every time for a layup or free throws named Flash!
We got a 7'6" Center that don't dunk and a 6'8" Shooting Guard who won't or can't post up his much smaller defenders nor drive to the basket, but has no problem jacking up those 3 pointers. Then he turn his ankle just an itty bitty and he got to shut it down. What a diva wusp! :D

DWade single handedly destroyed the Mavs by his relentlessness on both sides of the court. Plus he took it to the hole every single time.
This is a secret message to Tmac.

No, we are nothing like the Heat team that won the championship.
They had a go-to player who can get to the line in close games; we dont.
They had a great big man (albeit declining at the time) who changed the game on both ends of the court; we don't.
They have a coach who had championship experience and knew how to motivate his team; we don't.
They had a group of veteran players with smarts and know-hows; we don't.
The truth hurts and the truth is that the Rockets are a mediocre team.

:( sadly you are right.
i don't know if we're going to be like the championship heat but some of you people are confusing that finals team to the team that started the season. there's a HUGE difference.
mcgrady is just as good as wade and yao is much better then shaq was then. we're nowhere close to as good as that finals team because we look like complete crap, but we aren't far off from the 11-10 miami team earlier that season. could even be better. i'd say it's fairly reasonable to expect that we improve over the course of the season just like they did.

We can't be like the championship heat team because we don't have the ref on our side.

I just had a vivid dream. usually my dreams are just BS but sometimes they are foreshadowing
we had that center of golden state beidrens. i dont know who we gave up, but we diffently had beidrens. then i woke up, and realized that if adelman wants to build like the old kings he had, with alot of movement, then he would want a more mobile center (beidrens) and chris webber type pf,athletic and shoots the three like bosh..so basically somehow we traded yao for bosh, then a role like battier for beidrens. alston/wells/tmac/bosh/beidrens..i know its horrible, but it happened in the dream

sign you up.. for what? :)
I thought Riley was supposed to retire soon. I've always thought he's getting too old for a grueling 82 NBA game. If Adelman resigns, I would like for us to experiment with a new, young coach that could stick around for a while.. if not JVG for 1 more season. I feel so bad for Yao, I think he really misses Jeff.

That's great we share some of the bad parts of that squad. One glaring difference - they had locker room leaders in Riles and Shaq. We have no one that can hold others accountable.

the main difference is they had a go-to scorer in d.wade and we have t-mac who settles for jumpers and yao who fades throughout the game. we probably have the most overrated superstars in the league.

If you think of T-Mac and Yao as perhaps the most overrated superstars in the league, then don't you think of them as average players now? I certainly think so, and will continue to think that way about them until we see them play like superstars in every game. I have said that in other threads within these past few weeks.
Sure, they get double and triple-teamed a lot by opposing defenses. I know that the role players who are in the game along with those two can make things easier for them if they would step up and make opposing teams pay for all of their double and triple teaming on those two all the time, which is just something that needs to happen.
Even if this team makes the playoffs while playing the way they are now, they will likely not go far.

tmac isn't holding D-Wades jock...........................D-Wade did it with less talent and he's not afraid to take over a game..........

We are like the Minny of Garnet and Dwayne Casey as well. New coach, new pieces, high hopes, ok record in the begining, and ship wreck at the end. And I can tell you half a dozen other teams of similar and ended up as utter failures.
Stop all these rational-less comparison, like we are learning to ride a new bike, put some ratioanle in the argument, which I dont see.

Only if we were in Eastern conference.
Differences
-we are in Western conference, Heat only has to play one western team in a 7 series game. we need to play our ways to the western final.
-East just got much better, with KG, Ray, lewis... Boston, and Orlando to name a couple
-Heat was playing against the softie Mavs
Rowdie Brandon
12-12-2007, 02:48 PM
we played those same softie mavs and lost........mainly because we're "softer" than them.....

We can only hope but I would never compare us to the 05-06 Heat unless we started to show signs of life.
